Special to The Bold Pursuit -- a poem by Sandy Stringfellow
Ain't it funny how King Barry
Shows us who he is
Playing that worn out race card
Every chance he gets
Whining and bitching all the time
While breaking every promise
You won't see such immaturity
From Sowell, Williams, or Thomas
But there's more to the picture
Than most people know
For those who've paid attention
He's an emperor with no clothes
This unpleasant sounding metaphor
Defines his lewd behavior
King Barry's just another Marxist
Not a messianic savior

Who is Sharron Angle’s God? - Patriotic Perspectives
![]() |
| Sharron and Ted Angle |
“How do you explain all this? You’re now a national story, are you kind of overwhelmed by it all?” asked Ralph Reed of The Christian Coalition.
“I believe that God has been in this from the beginning and because of that when He has a plan and a purpose for your life and you fit into that, what He calls you to He always equipped you for,” Sharron Angle replied.
Now her critics accuse her of claiming God told her to run for office, claiming God is on her side, etc. etc.
However, the real question is not whether God told Sharron Angle to run, but Who is Sharron Angle’s God?
Is He:
-Harry Reid’s racist deity, who despises those who speak with a Negro dialect (whose scriptures state that god cursed evildoers with black skin) and Hispanics who are intelligent enough to think for themselves, and perhaps - gasp - not be Democrats?

Missouri Voters Score First Blow Against ObamaCare
by Clio
The Bold Pursuit congratulates the people of Missouri for overwhelmingly rejecting a fundamental provision in Mr. Obama’s health care reform bill. The citizens of the “Show Me” state, in a 71 – 29% vote, rejected the federal mandate to purchase health insurance.
Tuesday, August 3, 2010, was a bad day for Patient Protection and Affordable Care Act; Missouri’s Prop C passed in a landslide vote disallowing a core element of the bill and, earlier in the day, Virginia scored a victory when U.S. District Judge Henry E. Hudson ruled against Secretary of Health and Human Services Kathleen Sebelius’ motion to dismiss Virginia’s lawsuit, allowing the action against the federal government to go forward.
"The Show-Me State showed Obamacare the door yesterday. And what they need to do next there in Missouri is to show the rest of the states how to raise the collective voice of We the People, and say that Obamacare is overreached, it's unaffordable, it's not supported, it's unconstitutional, as the 10th amendment and the Commerce Clause applies to government taking over that section of our private sector in healthcare." Governor Sarah Palin, speaking on “Hannity,” August 4, 2010 Fox News Channel

Why Sharron Angle “Runs from the Press” - Patriotic Perspectives
Sharron Angle is a candidate for U.S. Senate, Nevada, facing Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid in the mid-term elections this November. The Bold Pursuit sm offers a blog about Ms. Angle from guest blogger, Jeanette Ward.
As reported in *The Huffington Post:
“Nevada Senate candidate Sharron Angle proved to be camera shy once again when she declined to take questions from reporters at a media-friendly event organized by her campaign on Wednesday.
“…As she left the press conference a local television reporter called after her: ‘Sharron, will you answer some questions really quickly.’ Angle did not turn around and a member of her staff responded, ‘We're running behind, I'm sorry.’
“’The whole point of an interview is to use it like they say, 'earned media,' to earn something with it,’ Angle recently told CBN's David Brody. ‘And I'm not going to earn anything from people who are there to badger me and use my words to batter me with.’”
Why does Sharron Angle “run from the press”?
Well, let’s see. Maybe it’s because:
1) Most mainstream media members aren’t interested in the truth, or in portraying conservatives fairly.
2) Mainstream media members of organizations like Politico, Time, The Huffington Post, and The Washington Post would rather conspire to conceal the relationship between Barack Obama and Jeremiah Wright at a critical time in a presidential election, or conspire to portray any popular conservative as a racist (just pick one!), or wish a slow and painful death on Rush Limbaugh, or shut down Fox News, or compare Tea Partiers to Nazis, or destroy Sarah Palin. (In case you are one of those mainstream media members, and haven’t heard about this story, it can be found here, here, and here).
3) She needs campaign contributions, and she doesn’t have the president flying to Nevada, twice, at a cost of approximately $1 million per trip in taxpayer funds, to do fundraisers for her, while the fawning media tells sunny happy stories about it.
4) The press isn’t really interested in her views. They are interested in trapping her and making her look foolish. See #1.
5) Since, according to liberal media, conservatives can’t read anyway, she’s saving her breath for talk radio.
6) Her supporters and those likely to support her don’t watch mainstream media on TV either.
7) Her views are on her website, and have been presented on numerous radio talk shows. Read, and listen, if you dare.
8) Don’t worry media members! You’ll get your chance before November, if you haven’t lost ALL of your audience by then.
For more commentary on Sharron Angle, see http://www.moveonreid.com.
*author's note: I learned from Sharron last night that the "repeal the Death Tax" press conference I cited in "The Huffington Post" article was not Sharron's; it was Dick Patten's. (Note that HuffPo claimed it was Sharron's). I also learned that the event was held twice, once in Reno and once in Las Vegas. At the Las Vegas event, Sharron did take questions.

Sarah Palin: Game-Changer
by Michael Wiswell, Special to The Bold Pursuitsm
Wow, look at those polls! It’s been a wild ride since the 2008 election, so it will be tough to weigh the factors that delivered the Kennedy seat to the Republicans and has Conservatives looking at the calendar as frequently as any eight-year-old in mid-December.
Besides the things beyond the Republican’s control, for example, economics, health care, deep water, and all the broken promises… have Conservatives learned anything? Have the old school Republican officials contributed anything to their new prospects?
One thing is certain, the Establishment Media could not objectively analyze this political wave if they wanted too – which they don’t. We are on our own ...
The old school guys (back in the day, most were guys) believed a candidate should never fight the media – after all, the opponent is a Democrat, not the media. This was the rule… until she broke it.
I have no idea if Sarah Palin will be the best candidate for President in 2012, and, more importantly, I don’t care. Sarah Palin is the rainmaker and the game-changer.
Observers of all political stripes knew something big was happening as the mini-nova named Sarah exploded at the GOP convention in August 2008. Even as the lights came up, Palin challenged the media and baited them. Bam! Sarah called down the thunder, and sure enough, down it came.
She battled, she took a punch, and then she withstood the entire arsenal of media munitions… and ... she was wounded. She got up. She is still swinging and she is beating them. Thanks to her, we now have a whole pantheon of pugnacious leaders: Rand Paul, Michele Bachmann, Sharron Angle, Jan Brewer, Marco Rubio, and the fiery Governor of New Jersey, Chris Christie.
Sarah Palin stood in the fire, and she is still standing. With every blow she takes, she exposes the impotence of her enemies. In her wake, in the waters tamed by our pit-bull in lipstick, follows a new breed of Tea Party-pleasing, constitutionally-minded rebels. Dig the new breed. This group will amplify the "Palin Approach," taking the heat and fighting back. Eventually, even some of the dinosaur Republicans will “get the memo” and figure out the path to victory lies over the cold, dead body of the Establishment Media along with their Big Government narrative. We were ALWAYS fighting the media!
Palin is still fighting. Every headline aimed at taking Sarah down is ink not spent targeting some other Conservative, as the public grows ever more numb to media bias. Palin knew that we had to take on the media and fight it out, which, if you think about it, makes the old “experts” from both parties look old indeed – they missed it. No wonder so many don't like her.
Conservatives, think whatever you will about Sarah Palin’s future, but when you think about her past – take off your hats. Especially you good ol' boys from the old days …you need to man-up already, because it was Sarah's vision and personal courage that changed the game. Sarah Palin: Game Changer.

Sarah Palin’s Mama Grizzles -- Special to The Bold Pursuit
STAND UP: Sarah Palin’s Mama Grizzles
by Thomas S Schmitz
"You don't want to mess with moms who are rising up. If you thought pit bulls were tough, you don't want to mess with mama grizzlies."
- Sarah Palin
The future of our republic is about to be safeguarded and secured. Not by soldiers, troops or militia. Rather by a coalition of commonsense, capable, and contemporary female candidates led by Sarah Palin. These striking recruits will do their darnedest to correct the ills of the Obama problem and restore American greatness. In other words, “Moms to the rescue,” or shall I say “Mama Grizzlies to the rescue.”
On May 14, 2010 Sarah Palin warned Washington D.C. that their out of control spending and generational theft is causing American moms to rise up and say,” C’mon now, that’s enough…that is enough and we’re gonna do something about this.” And with this rallying call to action the rise of the Mama Grizzly was born.
Americans first got a glimpse of the original Mama Grizzly politician on March 20 2009 after Barack Obama’s offensive taunt directed towards athletes of the Special Olympics on Jay Leno. Sarah Palin said, “I was shocked to learn of the comment made by President Obama about Special Olympics. This was a degrading remark about our world’s most precious and unique people, coming from the most powerful position in the world. These athletes overcome more challenges, discrimination and adversity than most of us ever will. By the way, these athletes can outperform many of us and we should be proud of them. I hope President Obama’s comments do not reflect how he truly feels about the special needs community.”
Mama Grizzly bears protect their cubs. If the Mama Grizzly feels you have gotten too close to harm her cubs, the Mama Grizzly will rise on her hind legs and deal a fatal blow to the perpetrator. Sarah Palin’s Mama Grizzlies have been on their hind legs for quite some time. The Obama administrations squandering of taxpayer dollars on unsustainable programs is immorally stealing future prosperity from our children. The tea party was among the first to see and act on this, and it is no coincidence that most of the tea party leaders are women.
Nikki Haley, Susana Martinez, and Carly Fiorina are the newest Mama Grizzlies drafted by Sarah Palin. When these women are combined with other GOP pink elephants and Mama Grizzlies like Michelle Bachman, Marsha Blackburn, and Nevada new comer Sharron Angle you have quite an impressive stampede. This stampede has the potential of being a formidable force of reform and restoration for our republic.
These hard working, self made, thriving career women and mothers are the undeniable aftermath of dare I say it…feminism. But these conservative women of this newer feminism are very different from their radical sisters of yesterday. The Mama Grizzlies won’t be burning their bras and peddling abortion. No these Mama Grizzlies know how to lead. They have respect for life. They know the difference between right and wrong. They know it’s better to challenge terrorists rather than engage them. They know it’s better to create wealth than redistribute it. They learned from Reagan that as government grows, liberty contracts. Lastly, they know the difference between a few uplifting notes scribbled on your hand and a capitalist teleprompter with a socialist heart.

Feminism and Palin Panic - An Update
by Clio
Almost two years ago, I wrote a blog about Governor Sarah Palin (see below), then candidate for vice president of the United States. As we all know, Governor Palin and Senator McCain lost their bid for the presidency; however, the media and pubic interest in this unique woman hasn't waned.
Governor Palin's supporters never lost faith with her after the election, pinning their hopes on another run, perhaps for president, in 2012. Since the election, her detractors continued their tirades and filed baseless ethics complaints (all but one dismissed) while the media seemed unaware that the McCain/Palin ticket failed. Until recently (a year and half after the election) did one notice a decrease in media attacks on the former Governor of Alaska.
The insults and assaults on Governor Palin did not sway her support base, in fact, it made the faithful even more steadfast in their devotion and energized the growing ranks of her followers on Facebook, Twitter and hundreds of social networks devoted to her. In brief, Governor Palin emerged from one of the most vicious and unrelenting "scorched earth" strategic political attacks in modern history with her dignity and reputation intact. She boldly criticizes her former political (perhaps future?) foes and opponents using the new media of the day, such as Facebook, and in her new position as a contributor to Fox News Network.
If one reads her autobiography, it is clear that Sarah Palin is a formidable adversary, fighter and competitor (not to mention a hunter). Still, after the abuse and lies spread about the governor and her family, one might expect her to step out of the heat of the spotlight and enjoy the royalties rolling in from her best-selling book, "Going Rogue." Apparently, Sarah Palin has other plans.
When Sarah Palin resigned as Governor of Alaska almost a year ago, almost every pundit predicted her political demise and fade from public life -- and they could not have been more wrong. Still, it's not really fair to hold these "experts" accountable for their flawed conjecture; they are used to profiling Washington politicians and Sarah Palin is the proverbial square peg.
The former maverick of Wasilla, Alaska is now dubbed the new "King or Queen-maker" of the Republican party. Three out of her four candidates picked for endorsement won in last June's Super Tuesday primaries: Carly Fiorina: California, US Senate, Nikki Haley: South Carolina, Governor, and former Governor Terry Branstad: Iowa, Governor. She continues to be in demand for endorsements and speaking engagements.
As for the future, Sarah Palin released a web video last week that highlights her "Mama Grizzly" endorsement philosophy:
How does this correlate with the blog below? Governor Sarah Palin is paving her own path, playing by her rules in a field once dominated by men. Her "Mama Grizzlies" are winning and the strength and will of conservative women is being acknowledged. The Bold Pursuit will follow this strong, unique woman and her efforts on behalf of Americans -- women and men. We believe this is a story worth pursuing...

I first declared myself a feminist at the age of 14. In reality, I knew very little about feminism, but the ideal resonated with my strong sentiments about personal freedom. My activist English teacher discovered my interest in feminism and guided me to books by all of the popular feminist authors of the day. It was a lot for a young girl to absorb and understand. My teacher urged me to join the Student Senate, so that I could endorse her class on activism in our high school. At that time, I didn’t understand her motivation; I was just barely in my teens and still quite naive.
Today, my personal definition of feminism is very similar to what I believed in my youth; it simply means that a woman should be able to choose her own life path, work in a profession of her choosing and receive fair and equal compensation. A woman shouldn’t encounter or accept discrimination because of her gender.
So, why are feminists and others (still) alarmed by the popularity and respect so many have for Governor Palin? I find it baffling because I view Governor Palin as an example of my definition of a true feminist: she’s smart, savvy, ambitious, courageous and patriotic. She sought the highest office in her state and won. She is a mother, a Christian, a governor, a reformer and the first Republican woman nominated for the Vice Presidency.
My point is that she chose her own life path; she’s a mother and has a career. I thought that’s what feminism was all about – to be free, without discrimination, to choose our lifestyles, professions and interests. I believe Sarah Palin is one of the best feminist role models we have in public life.
While reading various blogs and message board posts, I am surprised by the comments and slurs by some posters. You don’t have to like her, agree with her or vote for her. You certainly don’t have to accept or even understand my endorsement of Governor Palin on the basis of feminism, politics or qualifications (and, yes, I thought she was very qualified) for the vice presidency. However, a little cool-headed discussion and/or disagreement would be more appropriate in your forums.
If you're one of the hatemongers, please feel free to disagree with me, but tell me why – what is your position on my message? If you’re not bright enough to come up with some intelligent dialogue, well, I guess the only appropriate response, one that you’ll understand is: sticks and stones may …

STAND UP! Now is the time for choosing; Global Citizen or Real American?
by Thomas S Schmitz, Special to The Bold Pursuit
Our republic is at a crossroads. We are faced with a turning point of fundamental transformation. Those in the beltway mistakenly continue to see this moral compass we are challenged with as left and right. They could not be more wrong. What we are confronted by is two opposing world views battling to the dying end for the essence and conscience of our American republic. This battle is certainly not a new one, but as history shows us countries have fallen and transformed for the worse when an exaggerated crisis is coupled with enormous debt, high unemployment, inflation and financial uncertainty.
What makes this looming conflict unique is that for the first time in modern history these two opposing world views are fantastically embodied by two unparalleled superstars on the world stage. Sarah Palin and Barack Obama actually bring to life the two embattled comprehensive viewpoints Americans must choose between. Branding has taken on a whole new meaning in our political discourse and Americans are faced with a question. Whose America do you want to belong to?
Curiously during the 2008 presidential campaign Barack Hussein Obama standing on foreign soil called for a new world order and smugly crowned himself a, citizen of the world. This self important and self bestowed title was trumpeted in the media as progressive and modern. Yet many Americans were confused and raised their eyebrows as the media worked in full force to pass off this alleged morally superior globalist philosophy as mainstream.
Now, two years later, citizens have quickly learned that our identities as Americans, and the proud love of country that unites us, are not necessarily shared by our commander in chief; American exceptionalism has been publically trivialized, foreign leaders have been bowed before, foreign countries have been endlessly apologized to and warned of American arrogance, terrorists born on foreign soil have been given rights reserved for American citizens, and our president has stood next to a foreign head of state and gleefully joined him in condemning an American law passed to protect our citizens.
We have been told by our president that he desires to intentionally put the coal industry out of business for the well-being of the global community, and that the world will no longer tolerate Americans driving any type of car they desire and deciding for ourselves what temperature to keep our thermostats on. American sovereignty be damned. Let me be clear: in Barack Obama’s America , citizens must obtain a global permission slip before practicing American individualism.
As the Obama problem continues, the essence of American individualism has taken human form. With her Reaganesque charm and bold American spirit, Sarah Palin is singlehandedly holding the torch of liberty. By her mere existence, Sarah Palin has proven that in America you don’t need a title to make a difference. This new Momma Grizzly feminist has rallied the troops from coast to coast and handpicked candidates to send to the front lines of next November’s battle. Sarah Palin has enkindled a fire in grass roots common sense conservative activists and effected positive change for our country by throwing herself into the national debate and forcing delay to Barack Obama’s dangerous globalist agenda. Her role as Shadow President provides Americans with a consistent contrast to every issue the administration attempts to solve with big government globalist solutions. Sarah Palin is a constant reminder of that shining city on the hill where a smaller, smarter government lives within its means.

Sarah Palin: Super Tuesday’s Biggest Winner
by Clio
Sarah Palin was not a candidate for office on Super Tuesday, but that’s hard to ascertain from hundreds of news reports and blogs published today.
I thought I’d begin this piece with a cerebral and sophisticated title: “Chicks Rule!” and, indeed, the ladies made the biggest headlines during last night’s Super Tuesday primary results. However, the biggest story of the Super Tuesday mid-term primaries appears to be Sarah Palin, former Governor of Alaska.
Few major news outlets failed to mention Governor Palin’s efforts in Tuesday night’s primaries (three out of four of her candidates won) although several attempted to downplay her role or deflected attention from her successes by focusing on Palin supporters who were unhappy with her picks, dredging up the failed McCain/Palin ticket or her endorsement of New York Senate Independent, Doug Hoffman.
Hoffman entered the race as a dark horse, but soon led the Republican candidate, DeDe Scozzafava in the polls. Scozzafava withdrew from the race and threw her support behind challenger, Democrat Bill Owens. Hoffman lost by a few points; however, one might conclude that Hoffman could have won if Scozzafava had given her support to him instead of the opposition candidate.
Palin’s Facebook fans, according to NYMag.com, are “full of dismay, disenchantment, and even some disgust…” (link below).
This afternoon, I visited Sarah Palin’s Facebook page. After sifting through several pages of enthusiastic messages, I found a few mildly unhappy comments. Granted, some of her Facebook fans didn’t care for all of the candidates she chose to endorse. This may come as a shock to some liberals, but the Palin devout (the Palinistas or Palinbots, as some detractors like to call the former governor’s followers), are not brainless lemmings. Some may not agree with her choices in this primary, but that doesn’t diminish their approval of Governor Palin.
Below are a few excerpts from today’s primary coverage (for the full article, click on the link):
Fox News:
Sarah Palin's still got it.
After a few strikeouts during the campaign season, the former Alaska governor saw three of the four candidates she endorsed sail to victory ….
WashingtonPost.com:
Can Sarah Palin claim credit for last night?
It's irresistible for many in the press to look for Sarah Palin angles on election night…
AsssociatedContent.com:
Whitman, Fiorina, Haley, Angle , Lincoln Score Wins
Primary night was ladies' night on June 8, with the victories of Meg Whitman and Carly Fiorina in California, Nikki Haley in South Carolina, Sharron Angle in Nevada, and the unexpected win of Blanche Lincoln in Arkansas.
But the biggest winner may be someone who was not even on the ballot: Sarah Palin, former Governor of Alaska, potential Presidential candidate, and political queen-maker…
Newsmax.com:
CSMonitor.com:
…The “outsider” role in this year’s primaries has been played up big by Sarah Palin, the former Alaska governor, whose famous stump line is now “mama grizzlies, they rise up.” Her endorsement of four female Republican candidates may have helped three of them win or proceed to a runoff. And by her association with the “tea party” movement, she has helped prevent that conservative group from being stamped as antiwoman…
CBSNews.com:
…By my count, former Vice Presidential candidate Sarah Palin has endorsed 14 Republicans in 2010. Last night, Palin's candidates went two-for-three. California Senate candidate Carly Fiorina and Iowa gubernatorial nominee Terry Branstad won the GOP primaries, while one of her "mama grizzlies" -- Cecile Bledsoe -- went down to defeat in a congressional primary in Arkansas. (South Carolina GOP gubernatorial frontrunner Nikki Haley was forced to a runoff)…
Politico.com:
Some of Sarah Palin’s riskiest endorsements scored major victories Tuesday for the former Alaska governor, showing off her power in Republican primaries.
Palin had four primary endorsements in play – Carly Fiorina, Nikki Haley, Terry Branstad and Cecile Bledsoe – and three won or moved on to a runoff.
Palin served different roles for each candidate – sometimes spotlighting conservatives not well known to the national scene while at others validating conservative credentials to an unsure grassroots and even stepping in to deflect nasty attacks…
Negative reviews of Palin are de rigueur in the predominantly liberal mainstream media (or “lamestream media – a term used by Governor Palin and other conservatives). NYMag.com focuses on Palin’s disgruntled devotees; Huffington Post offers a compendium of anti-Palin blogs and features on the primaries and her (supposedly altered) mammaries. The Bold Pursuit suggests HuffPo report on the incompetency of the boobs running the White House rather than unsupported rumors intended to detract from a clearly powerful, influential woman.
NYMag.com:
It's usually difficult to find a more Palin-friendly place than the comment threads for Sarah Palin's own Facebook notes (standard message: "Go get 'em Sarah!"), but today, Palin's Facebook page is full of dismay, disenchantment, and even some disgust. It's all because Palin endorsed former Hewlett Packard CEO Carly "Demon Sheep" Fiorina over the more conservative Chuck DeVore in California's Republican Senate primary…
The real story is that three out of four candidates endorsed by Governor Palin won their primaries: Carly Fiorina: California, US Senate, Nikki Haley: South Carolina, Governor, and former Governor Terry Branstad: Iowa, Governor. The only candidate Palin endorsed in Tuesday's primaries who lost was Arkansas House candidate Cecile Bledsoe.
Sarah Palin's choices for governor and the U.S. Senate are, for the most part, conservatives selected by SarahPAC for having the best chance to prevail in the primaries and general elections. Occasionally, as in the case of Carly Fiorina, that means bypassing the more conservative choice.
Why would Sarah Palin choose a moderate over a more conservative candidate? She’s looking to the future, for the party and, perhaps, herself.
The Electoral College Map indicates that California will have 55 delegates – always pivotal state and especially so in the upcoming 2010 and 2012 elections. If Fiorina and Meg Whitman both win in November, there is a strong possibility that California may provide the crucial electoral and popular votes that conservative candidates need to win. Granted, that’s premature speculation at this point, however, one can see the strategic need for conservative wins in 2010 and 2012.
Of course, we do not know if Governor Palin’s popularity will continue to grow or maintain. Will she win back the support of her ‘dismayed, disenchanted, and disgusted’ fans? The Bold Pursuit asserts that her core base is strong and the demand for her endorsements and speaking engagements will continue. There are reports in the media that other candidates are seeking her seal of approval; many of her Facebook fans are begging her to consider their city/state/national candidates.
Will Governor Palin continue to wield her scepter as queen/kingmaker or seek her own throne in 2012? Readers, what do you think?

Sarah Palin was not a candidate for office on Super Tuesday, but that’s hard to ascertain from hundreds of news reports and blogs published today.
I thought I’d begin this piece with a cerebral and sophisticated title: “Chicks Rule!” and, indeed, the ladies made the biggest headlines during last night’s Super Tuesday primary results. However, the biggest story of the Super Tuesday mid-term primaries appears to be Sarah Palin, former Governor of Alaska.

"Palin is a queen or kingmaker within the Republican Party," said former Republican New York Sen. Alfonse D'Amato. After perusing dozens of articles, a theme began to emerge – the Palin effect (not to be confused with Palin Derangement Syndrome): almost all made note of Palin’s picks and the significance of her endorsements in paragraph one or within the first few paragraphs of the story.

Sarah Palin; American Citizen
Special to The Bold Pursuit, guest blogger, Thomas S. Schmitz, TeamSarah
STAND UP: Sarah Palin; American Citizen
By Thomas S Schmitz
“If there is a threat that I represent, it is that average, everyday, hardworking Americans, their voice is going to be heard!”
- Sarah Palin
America has reached a point in history when it is time to hit her reset button. Our elected leaders have gone too far. Barack Obama, Nancy Pelosi and Harry Reid do not serve us. They attempt to rule us. The gilt-edged Washington political class now resembles the disconnected court of King Louis XVI, who failed to listen to the voice of the people. It is now time for we the people to take matters into our own hands and regain control of the republic. The era of the over educated elite politician is over. The era of the citizen politician has begun.
Enter Sarah Palin; the ultimate citizen politician. Never in the history of America has a politician been feared and demonized more than Sarah Palin. Why? Simply put, the elites see Sarah Palin as a threat. She represents the end of elitism rule. Armed with the sword of her common sense politics, Sarah Palin reflects and defends the values of average everyday hardworking Americans. Her sword of common sense cuts right through their fancy Ivy League degrees and ponderous resumes boasting meaningless laureates and “think tanks” which have nothing to do with capitalism and everything to do with endless education. If you want to balance America’s budget it shouldn’t take a college degree to tell you that not spending more money than you make is a good place to start.
Truth be told, Washington’s political class doesn’t want real change. The current elitist administration, who have accomplished nothing except attending college, have an arrogant and superior view of us. In their eyes the formerly silent majority of Americans who make up the conservative American populate should remain silent because they know better than we do. But the political tides have shifted and it has now become clear that we the people are silent no more. We the people demand that our voices be heard and applied to our government. Unlike this administration and those in the beltway, we the people understand the role of government. Sarah Palin’s platform of free enterprise, smaller government, strong national security, energy independence, support for our troops, American individualism, liberty and life are the right platforms for the re-founding of our republic. They are the platforms of we the people. Like Sarah Palin these platforms reflect the principles and values of the majority of Americans who are we the people.
If you ask Sarah Palin why she entered politics she won’t drivel away with some enlightened scholarly thesis about fairness, mankind, or “healing the planet”. She’ll simply tell you she volunteered for the PTA because her kid’s school was messed up, and then ran for city council because she didn’t like seeing her families hard earned tax dollars being wasted on silly unsustainable government programs. These are exactly the issues the Washington elite do not want the electorate discussing. They are happy letting the people think that you need a title to bring about change, and since they are the ones with the titles they get to decide or invent the so called change. Make no mistake America real change is coming, but the change is not coming from Washington the change is coming from we the people. Because we the people have spoken and we the people nominate Sarah Palin.

Stand Up! Keep the Change... Special to The Bold Pursuit
Stand Up!
Keep the Change
By Thomas S Schmitz
One year into the controversial presidency of Barack Obama we can now answer one of 2008 biggest questions. What does Hope and Change mean? Bluntly put; Hoax and Chains would have been more accurate. By looking at his statist policies it is clear that by change the president does not want to improve our country and restore American greatness. Rather he wishes to fundamentally transform the United States of America.
We the people believe in the fundamental spirit and makeup of America. We don’t want to transform America. We want to refound America. The good people of Massachusetts sent Obama a message on January 19th. The Shot heard round the world dealt a devastating blow to the president and his unpopular policies by sending unknown State Senator Scott Brown to the United States Senate to fill the seat held by the far left for 38 years and to vote against the poisonous Obamacare health bill.
On November 2, 2010 there are 435 house seats and 36 senate seats up for reelection. As Ronald Reagan said in 1964, “Now is the time for choosing.” We must decide just what exactly is the role of government? Do we want to return to a representational form of government as our founding mothers and fathers fought for us to have, where government is on the side of the people? Or do we want to continue on the road to serfdom in Obama’s utopian statist dominion that shamelessly embraces socialism as he continues his attempt to rule over us rather than serve us. As Sarah Palin warned us in 2008, “The stakes for our nation could not be higher.”
We have our work cut out for us. The American conservative populate has been united by the Tea Parties and of course Sarah Palin. We know how we feel; we know what we must do. We must “throw the bums out” as Sarah likes to say. But how? Our first focus is the primaries. Not just for our own state but our country as a whole.
The Tea Parties and especially Sarah Palin have shown us that by donating time and money across state lines victory is much more than a possibility. The primaries are where we do our spring cleaning by weeding out the RINOs, establishment Republicans and the Dede Scozzafava’s. This skirmish can be made easier by using our online resources in these battles. With each of us uniting and making the most of websites like: http://www.ourcaucus.com/ http://www.resistnet.com/ we do our own vetting of the candidates to make sure they support Sarah Palin’s values and positive message of free enterprise, smaller government, strong national security, energy independence, support for our troops, American individualism, liberty and life. Our vigilance will produce candidates who are pro-America and motivated by these ideals.
Not only is now the time for choosing. Now is the time to take a stand. Take a stand for your country by sending people to Washington who want to serve for the right reasons, and demand to Obama that even though he has taken all our bills he can keep the change.

Palin’s Not So Slick “Sleight” of Hand
by Clio
After newly-elected Senator Scott Brown’s crushing and ego-bruising victory in Massachusetts last month, liberals feel that they finally have reason to celebrate and hope for a brighter future thanks to an inexcusable, career-defining and potentially destructive political gaffe by a popular conservative. This is big, folks!
It’s very easy to spot a liberal on this early February day; they are the people walking around with smug, superior, barely-concealed smiles (or, in many cases, wickedly snickering and/or rolling on the floor in gleeful, gloating, ‘gonna-wet-my-pants I’m so happy’ giggles). In spite of the raging blizzards that are bombarding states east of the Mississippi, liberals are feeling all warm and fuzzy right now.
What is the cause of this liberal elation, you ask? What could possibly make their little left-leaning hearts so upbeat and buoyant?
I’m sure the suspense must be agonizing, so I’ll tell you why the Dems are delighted: in a post-speech interview in Nashville last Saturday, February 6, cameras caught America’s favorite conservative, Sarah Palin, making a very serious faux pas – one that will likely cause permanent damage to her reputation and future political aspirations.
Finally, all of us, conservative and liberal alike, have a topic worthy of deep and intellectual discussion.
We’ve endured more than a year of tedious talk about trying terrorists in New York City, closing Guantanamo Bay and spending millions to refurbish a prison in Illinois.
Wait a minute, isn’t Illinois Mr. Obama’s adopted home state? Well, what a coinkidink! Who needs the Olympics? A refurbed prison will bring jobs and attention to Illinois as the new home base for enemy combatants … I mean “those who provide substantial assistance to al-Qaeda and its associates around the globe” while they await trial for their terrorist – sorry, I’m having a hard time keeping up with the New Obama Progressive Dictionary terms – I meant to say their “man-caused disaster” activities.
We can also take a breather from inconsequential issues such as the creation of a national healthcare nightmare and more taxes due to exorbitantly expensive, ill-conceived and poorly-administered bailouts that will burden present and future generations of Americans until global warming forces us to grow gills.
Yes, liberals now have some real meaty, controversial material in which to sink their drooling, freshly-sharpened choppers: Palin scribbled crib notes on her palm.
A camera captured the evidence of Palin’s underhanded attempt to provide prompts during her chat with Tea Party Nation founder Judson Phillips and the left is reveling in her inky error.
Personally, I think Governor Palin could have found a more appropriate way to jog her memory during her Q&A with Mr. Phillips. The method she chose was a little sophomoric, but not moronic, as comedians, talk show and cable news hosts were ballyhooing at full blast today.
Let’s have a show of hands: how many of us have written a number or note on our palms for convenience or just because we didn’t want to bother finding notepaper? Yep, I thought so… only the conservatives are confessing to their ink-stained handiwork.
The Left argues that a potential presidential candidate shouldn’t have a cheat sheet written on her hand. The Right may counter with “we shouldn’t have a president who can’t speak to his country or make foreign policy statements without reading his rhetoric off a teleprompter.”
My conservative friends may not like this, but I agree with both positions.
I believe that we should criticize our leaders (or potential leaders) if their behavior isn’t up to par (in fact, I think there’s something about the privilege of free speech in our Bill of Rights).
Sarah Palin isn’t a newcomer to the political arena, but she is still finding her footing on the national political stage. She spent the months before the election and almost a year and half since the failed McCain/Palin presidential bid fighting slander and libel from the left, as well as numerous and unfounded (and now dismissed) ethics violation complaints.
Sarah Palin has walked through the fire and emerged unburned. I think she can handle a little criticism.
We can forgive a few (small) mistakes and still support her. I’m confident that Governor Palin is a quick learner and predict that she’ll recover from this silly error in judgment. If she doesn’t, we’ll know soon enough.
So, let the Left laugh while they can and enjoy these stolen moments of trivial pleasure; there are two years before we elect a NEW president and Governor Palin has plenty of time to redeem herself from this embarrassment. Hopefully, she’ll discover the joys of post-it notes or find a more discreet “tickler” method.
Regardless of last Saturday’s mistake, conservatives still support Governor Sarah Palin. In fact, we owe her our gratitude for bringing excitement and energy to the Grand Old Party.
Not only did Governor Palin enliven interest and bring votes to the GOP, it’s my position that the post-election grassroots movement and Tea Party phenomena are inspired by that energy.
Conservative, Independent and Libertarian Americans are taking stands in peaceful activism and uniting in a worthy cause: the protection and preservation of our country, its soul and purpose … Sarah Palin is one of a few bright lights pointing the way to the “shining city on the hill” – a global icon of liberty that is currently under heavy cloud cover.
I think it’s highly possible that Governor Palin can handily overcome her penned palm prompt mess and become, at the very least, an asset to conservative candidates and causes – or, at best, a leader in high office.
Now let’s all shake hands and look beyond this little incident to more important issues.

Gov Palin to Contribute to Fox News Channel - Special to The Bold Pursuit
The Bold Pursuit is pleased to offer our readers the following commentary, courtesy of www.us4palin.com
by Ron Devito on January 11, 2010
Governor Palin is going places.
According to Rutenberg (2010), Governor Palin will be a paid contributor to the Fox News Channel (Rutenberg, 2010, ¶1-2). She will host a series that runs occasionally in a similar manner to Oliver North’s “War Stories” (Rutenberg, 2010, ¶3).
Comprehensive FoxNews Coverage
Commentary
Currently, Governor Palin uses Facebook for most of her writing and social networking, Twitter for brief updates, and the SarahPAC site for processing donations to SarahPAC. Governor Palin has written op-eds for the Washington Post, the New York Times, the Wall Street Journal, and National Review. Most print columns are syndicated. Her presence on the Fox News Channel is a major accomplishment, because Governor Palin can now incorporate a mainstream broadcast channel with its syndication into her overall media strategy.

Silent No More - Special to The Bold Pursuit ....
The Bold Pursuit is pleased to share with our readers some of the finest work from the conservative blogger community. Today, we are delighted to feature a blog written by Thomas S. Schmitz, originally published by The Team Sarah Conservative Voice on January 1, 2010
Silent No More
By Thomas S Schmitz
It’s us vs. them. There I said it. The war between the silent majority and intellectual imperialism has officially begun. God help us. It began on September 3 2008 when Sarah Louise Heath Palin walked onto the stage in Saint Paul Minnesota to accept the Republican Party nomination for vice president. In that instant the massed mouths of America hit the floor. Some jaws hit the floor because of intellectual disdain, yet many more jaws hit the floor for quite a different reason. On that stage stood a living, breathing, walking and talking affront to the dangerous progressive ideals of the self anointed brainy and cerebral left. Sarah Palin took the offense and instantly became our warrior, an effective thorn in the side of the pretentiously puffed up liberals. She proved that women didn’t have to divorce their husbands and have abortions to be successful. She spoke our language, she inspired us that all was not lost; she gave us hope, she was a populist and showed our own that we finally had adequate representation for the first time since Ronald Reagan.
Who is the silent majority? As Sarah said in Saint Paul, “They are the ones who do some of the hardest work in America ... who grow our food, run our factories, and fight our wars “. I’ll take it a step farther, the silent majority did not attend Harvard, Princeton or Yale ( the original Axis of Evil ) and we don’t drink lattes, have colonics, “ do lunch “, pay someone to walk our dog, or frighten our children with “green” anti-capitalist environmental propaganda. We say our prayers at night, get up in the morning, go about our day, run our errands, and are proud to contribute to free market American individualism. We don’t read “self help” books about the power of persuasion and we don’t care what Oprah thinks. We try hard to solve our problems on our own. We care for and raise our families very nicely without the learned experience of nannies, birthing specialists, life coaches or surrogates.
On July 26 2009 the silent majority received an important message which resonated deeply within each of us when Sarah Palin beat the democrats at their own game by transferring power to Lt. Governor Sean Parnell. Sarah said, “it may be tempting and more comfortable to just keep your head down, plod along, and appease those who demand: “Sit down and shut up”, but that's the worthless, easy path; that's a quitter's way out. And a problem in our country today is apathy. It would be apathetic to just hunker down and “go with the flow”. Nah, only dead fish “go with the flow”. Then came healthcare and America got a shocking glimpse at the blatant authoritarian agenda of this administration. Yet something wonderful and very American happened. We saw Sarah Palin’s inspirational words come to action in August as thousands upon thousands of regular everyday citizens flocked to town hall meetings, intent to loudly raise their previously ignored voices of opposition to their out of touch lordly representatives.
And so the sleeping giant has been awakened. Phase two of this war begins. One million patriots marched on Washington DC on September 12 2009 to protest big government. The cavalry has arrived. Sarah Palin has united the conservative American populate. The timing could not be more crucial to our republic. As the intentionally hypnotic and deceptive charm of President Barack Obama is rapidly fading into redundancy, his true colors are beginning to show. The intellectual lefts oppressive agenda can no longer be hidden behind his flashing smile and bogus centrism. Yes the sleeping giant has been awakened just in time to see that this creepy new emperor has no clothes.

Sarah Palin Rocks On...
by Clio
November 17, 2009
Former Governor Sarah Palin is a rock star, according to political analysts on either side of the aisle. If that sounds like a glamorous description for one of the most influential and controversial public figures to mount the national political stage since Ronald Reagan, I beg to differ. I believe the media and pols use that term to diminish the former governor, not glorify her status or accomplishments.
There is an old saying, “if you can’t beat ‘em, join ‘em.” If you’re a career politician, taking a definitive stand on anything is something most prefer to avoid. The GOP elite have found that criticizing Palin inflames her supporters and does not diminish her appeal (right, Newt?); her liberal adversaries are just coming around to that realization.
Well, if you can’t beat or join ‘em, consider a third option: spin. “Spin” isn’t just a Hollywood public relations gimmick; it’s a cornerstone of political rhetoric used on both sides of the aisle.
So, how does one “spin” Palin? How does a politician make fence-sitting or even disapproval seem favorable when questioned about the former governor by the media? Easy… introducing, Sarah Palin, Rock Star! If you’ve watched or read recent news reports or comments, it’s likely you’ve heard the governor described in those terms.
Clearly, Governor Palin is popular: “Going Rogue, An American Life” debuts on November 17, 2009. Former Governor Sarah Palin’s autobiography has topped the best seller lists for weeks; more than a million copies of book are pre-ordered. When the release date for the book was announced, almost two months before publication, the book became an instant hit.
Labeling Palin a rock star isn’t praise, although some might mistake it for such. A rock star is an ephemeral entity that thrives on glamour, spotlights and only sparkles in the delusion of smoke and mirrors. Most rockers are shooting stars whose popularity quickly fades. Very few rock stars, upon reaching the pinnacle of success, remain there for more than a few weeks or months. The list of famous names who continue to glitter under the glare of the lights for longer periods is very brief indeed.
There is nothing ephemeral about Governor Palin; this chick is no rock star. Governor Palin continues to gain in popularity with the conservative base more than a year after losing her vice-presidential bid and almost four months after resigning as governor. Her popularity isn’t based on her attractive looks or charisma; Sarah Palin’s devout following admire her strong and incontrovertible dedication to conservative issues, as well as her independent spirit. Thus far, Sarah Palin has outsmarted and outlasted her critics’ predictions of her political demise.
Liberals and Republicans are scratching deep gouges on their bewildered domes; they just don’t get Sarah Palin’s continued popularity, the fascination by the media or her strong, growing core group of dedicated supporters.
When Governor Palin resigned from office last summer, the political pundits delved into her decision and dissected it with barely-disguised delight. Most major news stories were pushed to the side while the talking heads debated Governor Palin’s political future. The consensus, particularly with liberals, is that her political future evaporated when she signed over the office to Sean Parnell. There were a few conservative and independent commentators who either supported her decision or adopted a “wait and see” attitude.
Almost four months after Governor Palin’s resignation, she is still on magazine and tabloid covers and remains one of the most talked about politicians in the country.
On Monday, November 16th, she appeared on “Oprah,” the first of many interviews in support of “Going Rogue.”
Palin critics have never found anything positive or noteworthy to say about her, so it’s no surprise that they’ve panned the book without reading it (and admitting such or, at best, read sections) and the reaction from fellow Republicans, to Governor Palin, her book and political future spans a critical spectrum from dire to enthusiastic.
Book sales and talk show schedules notwithstanding; Palin is creating a political platform for herself by utilizing an inexpensive but wildly effective means of delivering her views on national issues. Sarah Palin’s Facebook Notes are picked up by national news feeds, discussed and analyzed on the air and in prin. The former governor also uses Twitter to “tweet” brief updates and items about her views and news.
Many political candidates recognize the value and usefulness of the Internet in their political strategies, but haven’t realized the potential of social media, such as Facebook, Twitter and MySpace. Facebook, for example, has over 300 million members; Sarah Palin has over 1,006,000 members as of November 17, 2009. Social media is fast becoming the most powerful tool for information dissemination on the planet.
Case in point: the Iranian revolt earlier this year after the much-disputed results of their presidential election. The state shut down most media outlets, including the government-controlled Internet, but details, photos and video of the revolt went global via Twitter, texting, Facebook and other social media outlets. The power of these new media tools is formidable and Sarah Palin is using them with great success.
Governor Palin harnessed the capacity of social media via her Facebook Notes to confront Mr. Obama over aspects of his health care reform and to endorse a third-party candidate, Doug Hoffman, Conservative, for New York’s 23rd Congressional District. Democrat Bill Owens appears to be the victor in this race, but last weekend, we learned that Hoffman trails Owens by only 3000 votes and there are possibly as many as 10,000 uncounted absentee ballots.
Endorsing Doug Hoffman put Sarah Palin back in the top box on the cable news channels and gave her prominent placement in print publications. Pollsters questioned whether Palin’s backing would hurt, help or not even be a factor in what was a three-way race for the Congressional seat.
After Governor Palin’s announcement (former Senator Fred Thompson was one of the first to endorse Hoffman), Governor Tim Pawlenty, Senators Jim DeMint and Rick Santorum joined an impressive roster of political heavyweights and special interest groups supporting Hoffman’s candidacy. The Republican nominee, Assemblywoman DeDe Scozzafava, pulled out of the race after Hoffman surpassed her in the polls. Scozzafava’s parting gift to conservatives and Republicans was to throw her support to her opposition: Democrat Bill Owens.
Did Sarah Palin fail in her first national political endorsement since going to bat for Senator Chambliss in Georgia one year ago? No, in fact, in my estimation, picking Hoffman was a huge success for Palin. This is why:
- Doug Hoffman, a businessman in upstate New York, was an unknown entity, vying for the Congressional seat on third-party ticket. Governor Palin endorsed his candidacy just a couple of weeks before the election. Palin’s pick focused local and national media on this candidate whose poll numbers subsequently soared into a double-digit lead above the Republican Party nominee.
- Hoffman’s sudden and unexpected surge in the polls convinced his Republican opponent to withdraw.
- After former Senator Thompson and Governor Palin endorsed Hoffman, other conservative leaders followed suit.
- Hoffman may have lost (or may not … stay tuned), by only by 3% of the vote. Again, Hoffman is a political newcomer, late to the game and he nearly pulled off a win. I put a check in Sarah Palin’s column for her efforts in this race.
Regardless of the hopes and aspirations of GOP career politicians or the liberal opposition that fears her enduring and growing popularity, former Alaska Governor Sarah Palin made an impact on America and continues to inspire and lead conservative voters in her focus on national issues. She isn’t sprinkled with stardust, nor is she golden. Sarah Palin is an individual and a force for conservative politics, however, her future goals are known only to her. The only thing of which I can be certain is that she’ll surprise us, she’ll do it her own way and she’ll rock our world – with good, solid strategy and dedication to the best interests of our country.
Stay connected to your laptop and check your BlackBerry or iPhone – we might get a tweet regarding her future plans.

Doug Hoffman for Congress – Endorsements
by Clio
The Bold Pursuit is pleased to add our endorsement to a growing list of respected Republican and Conservative leaders, as well as the New York Post and other conservative interests, in supporting Doug Hoffman, Conservative Party nominee for New York’s 23rd Congressional District.
Governors Tim Pawlenty and Sarah Palin, former Senator Fred Thompson (TN), Senator Jim Demint (SC), Senator Rick Santorum (PA), former House majority leader, Dick Armey and Dr. James Dobson and others (click here for the full list of endorsements) are pledging their support Doug Hoffman.
Hoffman is a Managing Partner of Dragon Benware Crowley & Co., an accounting firm in northern New York State, as well as oversees Hoffman Family Enterprises of Hoffman (a diversified investment firm).
Governor Palin distinguished Hoffman from his opponents in her Facebook Notes by observing that Hoffman was “not … anointed by any political machine” (in contrast to his Republican and Democrat challengers). She further commented:
Clearly, Hoffman’s conservative political ideologies appeal to national conservative, Republican and independent leaders and New York voters; Hoffman leads Assemblywoman Dede Scozzafava (R) by 11 points in today’s (October 29) polls and is in a dead heat with Democrat, Bill Owens.
Doug Hoffman’s home page includes a link to a list of his positions on a number of issues, including the Stimulus plan, health care reform, cap and trade, bank bailouts and tax reform. Click on this link for the full details on Hoffman’s political views: Issues

While Rome Burns ...
by Clio
… We sit in our easy chairs, watch or read the news on our computers. Every day, elemental aspects of America are being changed, manipulated and excised, and most of us sit, watch, read or perhaps engage our family or colleagues in discussion or debate about our country’s transformation.
Throughout my life, I also watched, read and, when I felt my company might appreciate my perspectives, expressed my views. I guess I was a political wallflower.
My earliest memory of a national news event was the assassination of President John F. Kennedy. I remember the somber mood in our home as my parents spoke with relatives and friends about the tragedy.
As an adolescent, the riots of the 60s raised the issue of racism at our dinner table; I read accounts of the Vietnam War protests and Watergate (resulting in President Richard Nixon’s resignation) in one of my favorite magazines, Rolling Stone. I remember the slogans and chants and probably repeated some myself. I was a typical teenager in many respects: naively judgmental and relatively uniformed.
My high school Social Studies class covered the feminist movement and explored our deep concerns about nuclear proliferation. The U.S.S.R. was our Cold War enemy and the films and novels of the day reflected American fear of a smirking Russian with a ready finger on the nuclear “red button.”
Skyjacking, Libyan-supported terrorism and Muslim extremists replaced the smirking Russian in our nightmares and newspapers. In 1979, the American Embassy in Iran was invaded and Iranian students held 53 Americans hostage for 444 days. President Jimmy Carter organized a disastrous rescue attempt (“Operation Eagle Claw”), but the hostages were freed only minutes after Ronald Reagan, who defeated Carter in the election, took the oath of office.
President Ronald Reagan took bold steps to end the Cold War and did so without a single shot being fired. “Mr. Gorbachev, tear down this wall!” Reagan demanded; a bold command that reverberated around the world, changed the course of history and led to the lifting of the Iron Curtain.
There are many memorable events in the Reagan presidency, however, his election was particularly poignant for me because I became a Republican, voted for the first time and chose Ronald Reagan to lead our country.
I remember how empowered I felt after I left the voting booth on November 4, 1980. Later that evening, I watched the election returns and as the final votes were tallied, it occurred to me that if I hadn’t voted there would have been 43,903,229 instead of 43,903,230 votes cast for Ronald Reagan and his vice president, George H.W. Bush. My one vote would not have affected the outcome of the election, but it was counted! I took part in democratic process and was proud to be an American.
During the Persian Gulf War, I read newspapers, watched a war on television 24/7 and marveled at seeing reporters speaking to us “live” from various parts of the world, via satellite, on cable TV news stations. We watched the War as if it was a primetime series (“Operation: Desert Storm”) and combat vernacular (smart bombs, Scud and Patriot missiles) became part of our water cooler conversations.
Such was the extent of my political “activism” until the 2000 Presidential campaign. I joined the Bush-Cheney grassroots effort and created a virtual precinct. I attended some parties, was quoted by a Village Voice reporter and cast my vote. I did something, made an effort, but felt that I had more to give and wanted to give to my country.
The political timeline continues with great accomplishments and disappointments: recessions, recoveries, bear and bull stock markets, technology and Internet booms and busts, the space shuttle program launches Columbia on its maiden flight; later, the Challenger shuttle crash claims seven lives. We endured and observed more terrorist attacks … and, then September 11, 2001. Do I need to say more?
Last November 4, 2008, we witnessed a looming American tragedy: Barack Hussein Obama won the presidential election and ushered in a new era of extreme liberal agendas, supported by majorities in the House and Senate.
Six months into his presidency, Mr. Obama has made swift, drastic and expensive changes to this country without few impediments. Our venerable system of checks and balances in this administration is compromised and the current administration has free rein (or is it “reign”) to plunge our nation into a multi-trillion dollar debt, appoint cabinet officials, “czars” and judges with spotty records with little or no opposition, attempt to institute a government-sponsored health care industry – an ineffective, costly socialist-type of program that has failed to be effective in other countries.
Obama’s health care bill, like the TARP program and industry bailouts, will be a financial burden for generations to come. Experts tell us that H.R. 3200 will create a huge bureaucracy that will amount to 1/6th of our national economy. There are frightening aspects of this bill that may affect the way we treat senior citizens, ration care, create diminished quality of care and will negatively affect small businesses through tax increases and other measures.
Health Care Reform Bill, H.R. 3200 shares some commonalities with Obama’s other hasty endeavors (TARP, corporate, banking and auto industry bailouts): his administration presents lengthy and complicated legislative bills (H.R. 3200 has over 1000 pages) and then applies pressure for an immediate vote. Our representatives in Washington aren’t given enough time to read the entire complex and hefty legislative literature, leaving our representatives no choice but to blindly vote on the measures and their constituents in the dark and at the mercy of Mr. Obama’s aggressive plans.
However, something unexpected (at least to Mr. Obama and his minions) is taking place: seniors and other citizens are verbalizing their concern and anger over the more pernicious parts of the bill. Former Alaska Governor Sarah Palin recently wrote forcefully about the health care rationing on her Facebook Notes:
“… who will suffer the most when they ration care? The sick, the elderly, and the disabled, of course. The America I know and love is not one in which my parents or my baby with Down Syndrome will have to stand in front of Obama’s “death panel” so his bureaucrats can decide, based on a subjective judgment of their “level of productivity in society,” whether they are worthy of health care. Such a system is downright evil.”
Speaker of the House, Nancy Pelosi compared the protestors to Nazis and Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid accused them of trying to "sabotage" the democratic process. As a nation, we’re in trouble when our leaders try to trample on our First Amendment rights and attempt to suppress our freedom of speech by impugning our patriotism and intentions with inflammatory comments and slander.
I applaud the patriots who raised their voices in outrage over the health care reform bill and I admire those who attended recent “tea parties” to protest tax increases and the burgeoning national debt.
Former Governor Palin has taken more abuse from Obama and his staff than any politician in recent history, but she is unafraid to stand up to his administration and condemn this latest deeply-flawed piece of legislation – her actions and leadership command my respect.
While “Rome” burns, we can sit, read, watch and wait until someone else tries to stamp out the flames or we can, as a country, take a stand and demand better leadership from Washington’s enthroned elite.
It isn’t necessary for all of us to march on Washington, D.C., engage in protests or attend tea parties – we can throw our own Revolution if each of us will just take some kind of action, such as write to our elected officials, send a letter to the editor, attend a town hall meeting or even post a notice on our church or community bulletin board.
We can achieve tremendous results and perhaps douse the flames that threaten this great democracy if we get out of our chairs and start walking our talk... even small efforts can bring remarkable changes.
If the ire of a few of our senior citizens can attract international press coverage and one former governor’s strong statement, via the Internet, prompts a change in the bill, surely we can make a difference in the future of our country if we just stop talking about what we don’t like about the current state of affairs and do something in defense of America. We must act now, before we have nothing left but the ashes of a divinely-inspired Constitution and a charred and ruined country.

Good News! There are anti-Sarah hate groups on Facebook…
January 27, 2009
Did that subject line get your attention? If so, please don’t start to hyperventilate, froth at the mouth or begin writing an angry retort. Please allow me to explain why this is a good thing for the Governor.
A couple of days ago, I decided to join the burgeoning crowd of Facebookers and start my own page. While searching for groups and friends, I typed in the keywords “Sarah Palin.” The search rendered three pages of results: “Women Against Palin,” “Why We Hate Sarah Palin,” “People with no idea why, but Hate Sarah Palin” (okay, I made up the last one).
My search also yielded links to pro-Palin groups, as well as the Governor’s official Facebook page, too. Some of the groups favoring Sarah had a few members, some had a few thousand, some had tens of thousands and the Governor’s page had hundreds of thousands of members.
What struck me as important is the polarity of public opinion about Governor Palin. You love her or hate her (hate is such useless and spiritually/intellectually destructive trait, wouldn’t you agree?), but few people are indifferent. Indifference doesn’t get votes.
Sarah Palin creates controversy and attracts supporters who admire her “Mainstreeter” style, devoted to her because of her values, achievements and promise for a reinvigorated GOP. She is a positive portent for change in the coming years.
Some newscasters have noted that months have passed since the election and we’re still talking about Sarah Palin. She continues to be newsworthy and has a growing, significant support base. The McCain/Palin ticket failed to win, so why didn’t she quietly fade into obscurity like other vice presidential candidates?
While some of the established good old boys of the GOP would like to downplay the Governor’s importance and impact on America, it would be foolish to ignore or dismiss Sarah Palin as a flash-in-the-pan phenomenon. Celebrity fads fade fast and this rising star has just begun her ascent.
BTW, my background is in entertainment, not politics. This is the just the POV of a former celebrity publicist: she has star power. Yes, she has many strengths and a sharp mind, but she also has that elusive quality that separates the ordinary from the extraordinary.
Do you remember watching her acceptance speech at the RNC convention? I felt the exuberance of the crowd through my television and got chills. The previous evening, Mr. Obama gave his acceptance speech to a teary and cheering crowd. He was on his game and even I felt moved by his words. However, the next evening, Sarah Palin made America (and even the media) forget the Styrofoam Greek columns of the Altar of Obama and we embraced this sharp, self-assured and savvy politician from Alaska. Yep, a star was born that night.
What is star quality or star power? Let me give you one example, one I’d personally not like to use, but you can’t deny he has “it”: Barack Obama. Few people outside of Illinois were familiar with Mr. Obama (aside from William Ayers, et al.) before the 2004 Democratic National Convention. Obama’s skill as an orator wowed the crowd and, while people stumbled over his exotic name, the liberal left noticed and anointed a new star, making him their very own political construct and hope for the White House in 2008.
We must be fair to Mr. Obama; when he gives a speech, he really delivers. There is no doubt that he is talented in delivering the rhetoric. Regardless of our powerful, intense and, apparently, accurate measures of the man, he also has “star power.” I think that’s why many opined that Obama was running against Sarah Palin – not John McCain.
Personally, I feel it’s too early for the Governor to announce her intention to run for office, but she’s right on track with creating a PAC, getting a book deal and taking steps to create a positive pubic image. If Governor Palin gets a strong team behind her, creates a solid plan for her political future and raises the funds she needs for a successful campaign, there is good reason for the liberal left to tremble.
Do I believe Sarah Palin, a controversial, conservative and charismatic politician can achieve our nation’s highest office? You betcha.

Feminism and Palin Panic
October 13, 2008
Let’s be honest – very few people are swayed by radical, epithet-ridden pointless diatribes. Just reading these puerile posts is depressing: are these messages representative of the collective American political mindset? Aren’t we capable of exchanging thoughts and disagreeing in principle without resorting to schoolyard bullying and name-calling?
If you're one of the hatemongers, please feel free to disagree with me, but tell me why – what is your position on my message? If you’re not bright enough to come up with some intelligent dialogue, well, I guess the only appropriate response, one that you’ll understand is: sticks and stones may …
