When Things Seem At Their Worst

Picture yourself as an informed citizen in the year 1938.

Every day you read of some new success by the German and Japanese
imperialists, some new horror emanating out of Stalinist Russia, a new
conquest by fascist Italy, and the increasing powers of a Chinese dictator.

The future seems grim, almost hopeless. Making matters worse, a
complacent American public is either ill-informed or unrealistically secure
in the belief that it can stay out of “foreign entanglements.”

As the Japanese violate every international treaty by annexing Manchuria
through subterfuge and brutality, by walking out of the League of Nations,
the world stands by, wringing its hands, but unwilling to meet force with
force. Vainly, we hope that matters can be resolved peacefully.

As the Germans forcefully annex the Rhineland, and, as Britain and France
submissively sacrifice Czechoslovakia to a mad dictator, the prime minister
waves aloft a scrap of paper bearing Hitler’s signature and happily
proclaims that this means “peace in our time.”

Day after day, the march of boots crushes the hopes of yet another small group of valiant people, and each day those who remain, yet untrampled, hope the fool’s hope – that the tyrant will be satisfied, that he will kill no more.

The next day yet another band of people are crushed – either imprisoned or massacred, to satisfy the never-ending gluttony for power by the madmen who know no mercy, and recognize no limits of cruelty.

To such a citizen in 1938, there seems little hope. The memory of a recent
world war haunts him, with its millions of deaths; a generation of young men slaughtered in the trenches, and millions more deformed as amputees and as gasping victims of poison gas… and the machines of war have grown only more terrible than before.

Yet, however fearsome the thought of war, even more terrible is the prospect
of slavery beneath the whip of barbaric savages who regard other people as
less than human.

Finally war does erupt, first against the Germans as they invade Poland, and
then later against Japan when it bombs Pearl Harbor. Millions will die in
this war also – some twenty million in Russia alone. More than three hundred
thousand
US soldiers will die in combat – nearly a third of a million dead
men from the farms and cities of America.

In the end, the dictators are defeated, and democracy survives. It is not a clean victory. Josef Stalin continues as dictator, murdering thousands more, and threatening the world with nuclear holocaust. A new Chinese dictator emerges, similarly casting a pall of dread over a world that yearns for peace.

Today, we face a new threat, the specter of suicidal fanatics willing to kill any number of people, including their own, in order to achieve the mad dream of a world in which women are property, and in which no one dares utter a word of dissent against those in power.

Once again, the prospect of war seems distasteful. However, this time, America
responded, and is meeting force with force.

Despite all that, the enemy seems firmly entrenched, while other storm
clouds gather in the straits of Taiwan, in the oil fields of Venezuela, in
the sands of Israel, and even in our own streets.

The early going in World War II was a string of defeats for the allies. The fall of the Benelux countries, the defeat of France, the bombing of London, the death marches of Bataan and Corregidor, the loss of Wake Island, and the humiliation of the US army at Kasserine Pass, all seemed to presage a defeat of democracy, and the final descent of darkness upon a world that had fleetingly known freedom.

Today, we too find the going tough. Now, as then, we hear the forecasts of doom and gloom, and find ourselves confronted by those who snipe at our heels as we carry forward the struggle.

None of us can predict the final outcome. Nevertheless, we can be sure that God has a plan, and that if we give it our all, the world may continue to be illuminated by freedom.

So it is that in our war against the terrorists, we are likely to suffer many setbacks, and even some defeats along the way. But we have been down that road before, and triumphed.  Faith and perseverance, along with the grace of God, saw us through.

But our struggle for freedom is not only on the foreign battlefield. It is also here at home. You may not wield a rifle, nor sharpen a bayonet, on the domestic front line. But you do wield the vote. It is the instrument, not of destruction, but of building up where our misguided opponents would destroy.

The election of 2008 was a sort of Pearl Harbor for the cause of freedom. Since then, we have seen our share of disastrous policies, just as in 1942 when we suffered defeat after defeat overseas.

But 2010 can be the turnaround, the beginning of a great awakening, and the clear signal to those who value more government over more freedom, that in the end, free men and women will always prevail.

Why Politics As Usual Will Sink America … Part Four

by John Wayne Tucker

Much is wrong with American Politics, as we have already seen in this series. The circumstances about to be described can be argued as something good or bad, but it seems that anyone can see the potential for bad.

We are now in the final month before the election and things have begun to get rather exciting in most political camps as they begin to receive the huge donations from PACs (Political Action Committees). An election is incredibly expensive, as we have already discussed. When I went to D.C. to talk to the RNCC (Republican National Congressional Committee), I was told that I would need about two million dollars to run a campaign for my district. I was told that I was lucky because some races can cost upwards to twenty million dollars. When we stop to realize that this is for a job that pays about $163,000 per year, it seems mind boggling that so much money would be put forward to win an election. While it is only a recent development that millions can be raised overnight from individuals, it is still the big corporations, lobbies and labor unions that provide massive amounts of money.

My Fellow Grass Roots Americans

by Bruce Brown, candidate for U.S. Congress, California (35)

We often hear that the left runs on emotion and the right runs on logic – and I want to make it perfectly clear that I am passionately emotional about my logic because my logic includes love of God, love of country and love of family – the most powerful emotions people have and its all on the line this November – we must tap into these emotions and use that force to bend our government to our will.

Thirty years ago, we elected Ronald Reagan president after the disastrous Jimmy carter did irreparable harm to our country and we spoke of America as the “Shining City on The Hill” – America defeated the Soviet Union, tax cuts exploded government revenue, natural gas was de-regulated with great results and we spoke of a new concept called the “peace dividend.” Clearly, we had the world figured out and under control.

This Town Is Not My Home ...

by Jeanette Ward, Contributing Staff Writer

I was in Washington DC a few weeks ago and was invited by Sharron Angle to observe her interview with Fox News’ Brett Baier in the studio.  She did a great job articulating conservative principles in the interview, especially defending returning to LOCAL control the functions of the EPA, Department of Education, Department of Energy, etc.  Because, according to the tenth Amendment, only the enumerated powers listed in the Constitution are reserved for the Federal Government.  The rest are reserved for the states or other local authority. She is right on.

But I was particularly struck by something she said in passing off-camera. Someone on the Fox team remarked to her that she would possibly be moving to Washington DC. She said, “No, I’m not moving here; I’m just a visitor here.  My responsibility is to the people of Nevada.” She also remarked to me that to guard against becoming out-of-touch with Nevada, it was very important to her that she NOT live in DC.

Sharron once wrote on a related topic, incumbency, in a book draft she was considering publishing (quoted with permission):
“One of the reasons our nation is in such great trouble is that the legislative branches of state and national governments have been populated by professional, career politicians. This was never intended by our founders, and the problem is very simple. The interests of career politicians are never aligned with the interests of the folks back home. To have a career and job security, the politician must first bow to the demands of those powerful forces that can get him or her re-elected.

“The first priority of the career politician is protecting the incumbency. The ideal to serve for a few years to share the burden of representation on behalf of their communities as the Founders intended has long been abandoned. It has been replaced be those wanting full-time employment in government and having a desire to change our culture and governance along the leftist lines prevalent in most educational institutions. Since the sixties, schools have been teaching that government is too complex for amateurs and should be entrusted only to professionals who have absorbed the faddish teachings of this era.

“Protecting incumbency requires extensive fund raising, political alliances, competent image makers and campaign managers. None of these things are consistent with representing the genuine interests of the folks back home. On the other hand, the paybacks to that coalition often require selling out the interests of the folks back home in favor of such lobbyists and power brokers. Also disgracefully, politicians have subsequently rigged a self-serving system of enormous rewards and benefits, travel both foreign and domestic, gold-plated health care coverage, generous salaries and allowances, pensions representing full salaries for life after short periods of service, and power and prestige which rivals that of royalty - all motivations to hold on to their “careers” at any cost.”
Sharron Angle is not interested in becoming one of the Washington elite. She is interested in serving “We the People." God-speed, Sharron Angle.

Sharron Angle Entrapped by Fake Tea Party Candidate

Sharron Angle is a candidate for U.S. Senate, Nevada, facing Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid in the mid-term elections this November. The Bold Pursuit sm   offers a Patriotic Perspective about Candidate Angle from guest blogger, Jeanette Ward.

From the Las Vegas Sun:

“Angle: ‘I’m not sure I can win’ if Ashjian’s in, nat’l GOPers ‘have lost their principles,’ need to ‘leave me alone"

“That’s just some of what GOP Senate nominee Sharron Angle said during a meeting Wednesday evening with Tea Party of Nevada candidate Scott Ashjian and Tea Party of Nevada Chairman Sid James at the home of Richard Ziser, who lost to Harry Reid in 1994 and now is an adviser to the Angle campaign and also participated in the conversation.

“A tape of the 38-minute meeting that I have obtained provides a rare window into the kinds of discussions that take place during campaigns behind closed doors, redolent of the authenticity that disappears in public or in TV ads.”

Ah, yes, that would be a tape you (Jon Ralston, no friend of Sharron Angle), obtained from Scott Ashjian himself, who taped the whole conversation with Sharron Angle without her knowledge. In the interest of full disclosure, you might have revealed that in the article, Jon Ralston.

Continuing from the Las Vegas Sun:

“Angle expresses disdain for the national GOP, which she says she now has ‘in a box’ because she won the primary, which caused the DC types after her June 8 victory to still be ‘moaning and groaning and weeping and gnashing teeth over Sue Lowden.’ Later, she tries to persuade Ashjian to endorse her because she will have ‘juice’ he can tap into to get access to Sens. Jim DeMint, Tom Coburn and Mitch McConnell.

“I can just hear it now: The woman who calls the majority leader ‘Let’s Make a Deal Harry Reid’ becomes ‘Let’s Make a Deal Sharron Angle’”.

Excuse me? Access to meetings with political figures is not the same as the thuggery and bribery that Harry Reid employed to ram Obamacare through the Senate against the will of the American people, and you know it, Jon Ralston. She is promised Ashjian nothing.
And, she DID win IN SPITE OF the Republican establishment, the same Republican establishment who initially refused to endorse Christine O’Donnell. Umm, is this a shock to anyone?
Interestingly, the Tea Party Express had a message  for Scott Ashjian back in March:

"We at the Tea Party Express have a message for Scott Ashjian, who has been trying to pretend that he's part of the Tea Party movement - get lost!" says Mark Williams, chairman of the Tea Party Express, in the video. "None of us have ever heard of you or seen you at a Tea Party rally. Nothing. We think you are a fraud who's trying to split the vote and help re-elect Harry Reid."

Gateway Pundit sums it up nicely:

“This fraud [Ashjian] sure seems to be helping out the Reid Campaign for some odd reason.

“Fake Nevada Tea Party candidate Scott Ashjian was sued by the Independent American Party in March. The suit challenged Ashjian’s membership in the Tea Party of Nevada. He was also charged with felony theft for passing a bad check in Las Vegas this spring.

“…This afternoon Ashjian lashed out at the “racist” Tea Party Express and the Republican Party saying he would not endorse Angle or Reid in the election.

“Unfortunately, this fake tea party candidate is trying to pull votes from Sharron Angle.

…How convenient for Harry Reid.”

Why Politics as Usual Will Sink America ... Part Three

JWT'S Journal: It’s All About Winning

by John Wayne Tucker

The people have the belief that there is an important difference between the two parties. While it is true that each party stands for different ideologies, they are exactly alike in one very important respect. Everything they do is about winning. Both sides will say and or do whatever it takes to win the elections. That means, unfortunately, that they are willing to sacrifice the best people for the people that they believe have the best chance to win.

Once again, it is important to site the issue of Christine O’Donnell. The party says they will not financially support or will not fully support the duly elected candidate because they do not believe she has the same chance to win that the party choice would have had. The only real concern is that the party wins as many seats as possible so that they can control the direction of the nation. That is a good thing, right? After all, we vote for a particular party because we support the issues of that party. Well, yes, we do support those platforms; however, it has become clear lately that the parties do not adhere to their own platforms. One of the reasons that people are so upset with the Republican Party is that they have failed to live up to their conservative agenda. And why do they fail to do that? They do that because, if you remember from the previous article, this is about making whatever deals and policies are necessary to appease everyone.

Don’t Fade Away – Marxism, Socialism, Democracy, and God (Part Four)

Exclusive to The Bold Pursuit – a series by Sandy Stringfellow

Even at its best, Liberalism is an abstraction that defies reason, suitable only for the amusement of “ivory tower” intellectuals and academics living within the sheltered social settings afforded them by those who have fought for Liberty and Freedom, and who have promoted the continuance of our ordered society by defending the rule of law as set forth under the Founding Documents of our Constitutional Republic.

Virtually all Democratic Liberal Socialist ideas have their genesis in Marxist Theory, and as any student of history already knows, Marxism has left a bloody and tear-soaked trail of human victims and unfathomable carnage in the wake of time.

Don’t Fade Away – Soft Tyranny, RINO’s, and Ronald Reagan (Part Three)

Exclusive to The Bold Pursuit – a series by Sandy Stringfellow

If Conservatism is on the ascendancy, as it would appear, then it’s time to buckle up and put the pedal to the metal; time to put up or shut up, because we probably aren’t going to get another chance to turn our country around.

We, as a nation, have already succumbed to the firm “iron fist/velvet glove” grip of a “soft tyranny”; the transitional stage of King Barry’s quiet counter-revolution, and the pipers path to a sinister destination that’s apparently difficult for many American citizens to fully comprehend.

Don’t Fade Away – Liberals, Conservatives and the New Media (Part Two)

Exclusive to The Bold Pursuit – a series by Sandy Stringfellow

The Democrats have no compunction about lying, cheating, bribing, stealing, and using whatever form of illegal and immoral behavior is necessary to place their candidates in elected office.

There are numerous examples of Democrat Party lineage using these tactics to influence elections throughout recent American history. Republicans are certainly not without blame, but Democrats make the Republicans look like pikers when it comes to election fraud.

Don’t Fade Away – George Soros and the Mainstream Media (Part One)

Exclusive to The Bold Pursuit – a series by Sandy Stringfellow

Articles have begun to appear in the mainstream media that portray Democrat Party loyalists as shaking in their boots, quivering in nervous anticipation of a projected Republican landslide in the House of Representatives this November, based upon unprecedented voter turnout predominantly generated by the sour mood of our nation.

Nothing would be more satisfying than to witness a Conservative landslide victory in the House and Senate, a human tsunami of registered voters consisting of Republicans, New Conservative Democrats, and Independents, forming a groundswell of momentum to begin undoing the devastating effects of “change” from our previous elections in 2008.

Why Politics as Usual Will Sink America … Part Two

JWT’s Journal: Why We Keep Electing the Same Politicians

by John Wayne Tucker

In the previous article, we discussed how politicians want to make everything good on their watch; therefore, they are to the point of borrowing our lifestyle from other countries and printing money at unprecedented levels.

Why do we keep electing politicians who behave this way? There are many answers to that question. First, it goes back to the complacency of the people. Many assume that the incumbent is the natural choice for election. After all, he already has the job; therefore, he must have experience. He made contacts and connections which allow him to be able to carry out the job effectively. Of course, what the average voter does not realize is that those connections and contacts are often a developed relationship of backroom deals and agreements of mutual support regardless of the consequences. While this kind of collaboration to accomplish goals can be a good thing, it stops being a good thing when it means that the politician has to sacrifice his values to accomplish the compromise.

A Tribute to a Patriot …

In the early days of The Bold Pursuit, a group of friends gathered, fellow conservatives, who shared the excitement and promise of creating a special place to give voice to the issues of the day and express devotion to their country.

We were united in a mutual objective; a patriot’s dream of reversing the dangerous course that leaders and lawmakers set us upon and envisioning a place where those with similar views could interact and inspire each other.

While we parted ways before realizing this dream as a group, our efforts did not cease as we separately pursued our goals.

One member of our group, Toni, Rok or Red Diva – by whatever name she was known to you – was an indefatigable and outspoken advocate for conservative issues.

This patriot, who worked so hard and wrote so boldly in her quest to serve her country, completed her mission yesterday, September 24, 2010. She is now on permanent leave … to the arms of her Savior, a rest well-earned.

We wish Toni everlasting peace, a comfortable chair on a sunny porch and chilled glasses of lemonade in her Paradise. We hope she will keep all of us in her prayers (and we know she will) as we continue our missions … for our country and our freedoms.

Thank you, Toni, for being part of our lives and sharing our dream.

Culture Wars ... from The Patriot’s Notepad

The Bold Pursuit presents a new feature, The Patriot’s Notepad. We are proud to publish the candid and unedited wisdom of fellow citizens who wish to express their thoughts and views on America’s political landscape.
Culture Wars

by Robert Arvay

America has always had cultural struggles. Our very beginning as a nation resulted from a political dispute with Great Britain that was not merely political and economic, but also, to a large extent, cultural and philosophic. While the American Founders held certain “truths to be self evident, that all men are created equal, endowed by their Creator with certain inalienable rights,” the British had a very different view, which held that kings have a “divine right of rule,” and that the general public must always obey the king.

Perhaps our most monumental cultural war was over slavery, an issue that divided the nation for decades, even before the Civil War began.

Why Politics “As Usual” Will Sink America … Part One

JWT's Journal ... by John Wayne Tucker

People have become rather complacent about the operation of our country over the decades. Of course, there are the few who have begun to wake up, but even they are not always certain about the real problems; but rather, simply know that there is a problem. The fact remains, however, that most people are content with the operation of America. As long as they have a job (even if it doesn’t pay what it used to pay), a car (even if it is not as big and luxurious as it used to be), and can afford to eat out and enjoy entertainment and toys, they are happy.

Politicians have certainly figured out the formula that keeps them in office and keeps them collecting huge benefits from being there. The formula is simple actually. Just make sure that the people are content and that the economy is perceived as being good. So the politician takes the position that he wants everything to be good on his watch. What happens after those politicians are gone is the concern of another group of politicians who have inherited all of the problems from the previous group but wants the same formula for their watch.

Tea and Sour Grapes – This is No “Party” …

by Clio
“The Republican Party is in a "deep civil war" casting a message of "moderates, keep out," Democratic National Committee Chairman and former Virginia Gov. Timothy M. Kaine said after the electoral upset in Delaware.
Let’s hope DNC Chairman Kaine’s statement is a wake-up call for all those hoping for GOP victories in November. It’s time for all those who wish to unseat Obama Democrats and RINO’s (Republicans In Name Only) to come together in support and unity.

Political Moves: O’Donnell Takes Castle

Christine O’Donnell, running for U.S. Senate, won her primary against 40-year Delaware political veteran Mike Castle on September 14, making O’Donnell the cause célèbre in political news this week. The Tea Party Express candidate’s win, considered an “upset,” provoked jeers from the political cognoscenti who pronounced O’Donnell as “unelectable.”

Many of those predicting O’Donnell’s downfall were Republican politicians and commentators, much to the delight of Democrats, locally and nationally. Instead of immediately backing the Delaware candidate, the Republicans, initially, rejected her.

Rep. Michael Castle, refuses to endorse O’Donnell, saying he needs time to recover from personal attacks received during the hard-fought campaign. He also blamed former Alaska governor Sarah Palin’s for providing the "attention [and] publicity" that gave O’Donnell the edge she needed to win the race. Sen. Jim DeMint, SC, also supported O’Donnell in her bid for the nomination.

However, Rep. Castle states that he will not endorse the Democratic nominee, New Castle County Executive Chris Coons, unlike Assemblywoman Dede Scozzafava who pulled out of the primary race in November 2009 for New York’s 23rd Congressional district after Doug Hoffman, running as an Independent and endorsed by Sarah Palin, surged ahead of her in the polls.

In what seemed to be a vindictive hissy fit after quitting the race, moderate Scozzafava threw her support to Democrat Bill Owens. Hoffman lost that election by four points and one can only speculate if Scozzafava’s actions cost Hoffman the election and Republicans a seat in Congress.

Missouri, Arizona, States’ Rights and the Civil War … JWT’s Journal

The Bold Pursuit is pleased to present our first JWT's Journal, a column by John Wayne Tucker, former candidate for U.S. Congress, Missouri, Minister and Teacher.

On August 3, 2010, Missouri joined Arizona in the move to take back America and prevent the federal government from cramming things down their respective state throats. Missouri passed by an overwhelming margin a law called Prop C which allows the people of Missouri to opt out of Obamacare or opt into it. Prop C gave the choice to the citizens of the state of Missouri, not the federal government. This was an extreme statement regarding the attitude in Missouri regarding States’ Rights. In Arizona, of course, they passed SB1070, an extensive protection against illegal immigration. They did this because the federal government refused to carry out their obligations to protect the states from invasion. This could also be interpreted as a States’ Rights vote by the people of Arizona. Not only was it a requirement for their survival, but it made a strong statement that a state has the right to protect itself against invasion whether the federal government is willing to do so or not.

Both of these laws have been applauded and railed against throughout the United States and even in other countries. The federal government and Mexico have filed suit against Arizona for its law and the verdict is still out on Missouri’s objections.

“You Might Be A Domestic Enemy (Of The United States) If …”

Sharron Angle is a candidate for U.S. Senate, Nevada, facing Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid in the mid-term elections this November. The Bold Pursuit sm   offers a Patriotic Perspective about Candidate Angle from guest blogger, Jeanette Ward.

From The Washington Post:

“Sharron Angle is the national GOP's candidate in what is arguably the most high-profile Senate race in the country. On the day she announced her candidacy in 2009, Angle clearly and unequivocally agreed with a conservative radio host who claimed that there are "domestic enemies" and homegrown enemies" within the Senate and the Congress.

She has now been given three chances to disavow this claim or to state clearly that she doesn't agree with it. In all three cases, she's refused.

Angle's latest refusal came this morning, in response to aggressive questioning from ABC News' Jonathan Karl:

ABC NEWS: Do we have enemies of the country inside the walls of Congress?

ANGLE: Certainly people who pass these kinds of policies -- Obamacare, cap and trade, stimulus, bailout -- they're certainly not friends to the free market system.

ABC NEWS: So, what are they?

ANGLE: They're not friends.”

Sharron Angle is right. Let’s explore the idea that there might be “domestic enemies” within Congress.

You might be a domestic enemy if:

Why Every American is a Victim of 9/11 …

by Clio

First, The Bold Pursuit offers our condolences to those most affected by the terrorist attacks on September 11, 2001: the families, friends and associates of the victims. We also wish to pay tribute to the first responders who taught us the true meaning of heroism.

Nine years after that dreadful morning, the Cordoba Initiative, led by Chairman Imam Feisal Abdul Rauf, plans to construct a $100 million, 13-story Islamic center, including a mosque. Chairman Imam Rauf is quoted as saying, "I wouldn't say that the United States deserved what happened [on September 11th], but the United States policies were an accessory to the crime that happened.”

We salute you, America, and aspire to a future of prosperity as we commemorate each and every Labor Day. God Bless America!  the Staff of The Bold Pursuit: Genevieve, Clio and Cynthia

Below is some food for thought to peruse as you enjoy your well-earned holiday:

"The taxpayer - that's someone who works for the federal government but doesn't have to take the civil service examination." ~ Ronald Reagan

"Labor Day is a glorious holiday because your child will be going back to school the next day.  It would have been called Independence Day, but that name was already taken." ~Bill Dodds

“A wise and frugal government, which shall leave men free to regulate their own pursuits of industry and improvement, and shall not take from the mouth of labor the bread it has earned - this is the sum of good government.” ~ Thomas Jefferson

"Labor was the first price, the original purchase-money that was paid for all things.  It was not by gold or by silver, but by labor, that all wealth of the world was originally purchased."  ~Adam Smith

Americans On The Double

Special to The Bold Pursuit -- a poem by Sandy Stringfellow

Ain't it funny how King Barry
Shows us who he is
Playing that worn out race card
Every chance he gets
Whining and bitching all the time
While breaking every promise
You won't see such immaturity
From Sowell, Williams, or Thomas

But there's more to the picture
Than most people know
For those who've paid attention
He's an emperor with no clothes
This unpleasant sounding metaphor
Defines his lewd behavior
King Barry's just another Marxist
Not a messianic savior

Why Vouchers Would Destroy the Public School System in One Year

by John Wayne Tucker - a Patriotic Perspectives featured blog

Vouchers are a huge political and educational issue right now. It is not a new issue by any means. The history of the voucher system goes back to the 1960’s when parents of parochial school children began to argue that it was not fair that they had to pay taxes to fund public school and also pay tuition to send their children to parochial school with no kind of financial break provided by the government. This became a genuine issue of separation of church and state. For the federal government to fund a religious school would be a real Constitutional violation. However, move forward to the present and we find a totally different argument. Given the problems faced by the public schools (which I will grant you are huge), the argument has turned to the issue of school choice.

Our Government Has Gone Gestapo

by Delia Lopez, candidate for United States Congress, Oregon, District 3 -- a Patriotic Perspectives featured blog

Not long ago, some small farmers in California, minding their own business, were raided by men with drawn guns, ready to shoot. It’s not unusual – violence like this goes on every day. Men with guns are terrorizing small farms right now and Oregonians rightfully demand an end to this wave of violence. Were they armed, roving criminals, perhaps, plundering the countryside? Drug gangs growing marijuana on their rival’s turf? No. It’s not criminal gangs battling each other, and it isn’t psychotic killers stalking peaceful family farms. Believe it or not, it is the police. Farmers all over the USA are being raided for selling milk, meat, eggs and other healthful foods! Small children held at gunpoint while their parents are accused of… selling milk! This is the United States Department of Agriculture at work, protecting you. It’s for your own protection, of course.

Who is Sharron Angle’s God? - Patriotic Perspectives

Sharron and Ted Angle
by Jeanette Ward

“How do you explain all this? You’re now a national story, are you kind of overwhelmed by it all?” asked Ralph Reed of The Christian Coalition.

“I believe that God has been in this from the beginning and because of that when He has a plan and a purpose for your life and you fit into that, what He calls you to He always equipped you for,” Sharron Angle replied.

Now her critics accuse her of claiming God told her to run for office, claiming God is on her side, etc. etc.

However, the real question is not whether God told Sharron Angle to run, but Who is Sharron Angle’s God?
Is He:

-Harry Reid’s racist deity, who despises those who speak with a Negro dialect (whose scriptures state that god cursed evildoers with black skin) and Hispanics who are intelligent enough to think for themselves, and perhaps - gasp - not be Democrats?

The War on Reason

By Sandy Stringfellow  Saturday, August 14, 2010
(originally published on CanadaFreePress.com)

Perhaps it was my having been drawn to the arts from an early age, and that Liberalism is irrevocably concomitant to the art world.  I’ve known many Liberals over the years, some of considerable talent, including liberal family and friends whom I dearly love.

Unfortunately, Liberals have initiated a considerable amount of harm to our nation from their blind application of circular logic when trying to make sense of the world.

To justify their policy positions and beliefs, Liberals must jettison the prescriptions of reason, historical fact, and acceptance of human nature.

Protecting Our Freedoms

The following is Special to The Bold Pursuit sm  -- a Patriotic Perspectives feature

by Delia Lopez

We all want to be free and we all say we want everyone else to be free. The idea of forcing a fellow human being into slavery today is abhorrent to us. The theme of “Uncle Sam's Plantation,” by Star Parker, is slavery imposed by big government. “Uncle Sam’s Plantation” talks about people enslaved by a government whose main desire seems to be increasing the size and power of government. This system does not really help to improve the lives of the people they say they want to help. People who are trapped in the system of government aid and control know this better than any of us. A wise man once said, “The goal of any welfare system should be to eliminate the need for its existence.” That is a wise goal, meaning the objective is to empower people to achieve their dreams.

Can We Save Freedom?

The following is Special to The Bold Pursuit -- a Patriotic Perspectives feature

Hello, I am Delia Lopez and I feel our freedoms are being stolen from us by the people we voted into office. We voted for them to represent us. They seem to be representing vested special interests, instead. What I mean by “our freedoms” include for example; our right to start a business to achieve economic independence, the right to privacy, the right to buy from whom you choose, the right to not have your earnings stolen from you to pay for something you detest, and did not vote for.

What is happening to our nation? Our country was founded on the idea that all men were created with unalienable rights. Among these were the right to life liberty and the pursuit of happiness. Our founding fathers created this government to secure our rights. For me, that means being able to do as you please as long as you do not harm anyone else or infringe on their right to do the same.

You used to be able to start with nothing; get a rag, vinegar and water and start a business. With just hard work, you could live the "American Dream." Now, you must be licensed, bonded, and insured to start the smallest of businesses, and that takes thousands of dollars. This eliminates for many the possibility of starting their own business. This is killing the American Dream.

Missouri Voters Score First Blow Against ObamaCare

by Clio
"The Show-Me State showed Obamacare the door yesterday. And what they need to do next there in Missouri is to show the rest of the states how to raise the collective voice of We the People, and say that Obamacare is overreached, it's unaffordable, it's not supported, it's unconstitutional, as the 10th amendment and the Commerce Clause applies to government taking over that section of our private sector in healthcare." Governor Sarah Palin, speaking on “Hannity,” August 4, 2010 Fox News Channel

The Bold Pursuit congratulates the people of Missouri for overwhelmingly rejecting a fundamental provision in Mr. Obama’s health care reform bill. The citizens of the “Show Me” state, in a 71 – 29% vote, rejected the federal mandate to purchase health insurance.

Tuesday, August 3, 2010, was a bad day for Patient Protection and Affordable Care Act; Missouri’s Prop C passed in a landslide vote disallowing a core element of the bill and, earlier in the day, Virginia scored a victory when U.S. District Judge Henry E. Hudson ruled against Secretary of Health and Human Services Kathleen Sebelius’ motion to dismiss Virginia’s lawsuit, allowing the action against the federal government to go forward.

Election Fraud in America

by John Crouse, Special to The Bold Pursuit sm

When Democrats hear the term ”Election Fraud”, they automatically assume that it refers to the 2000 election and the Florida recounts. That was trivial compared to the frauds of the 2010 primaries, the 2008 Presidential election, and now we find out that the 2008 Democratic primary was rigged also.

During the entire 2000 Florida election debacle, seems the only protesters were voters who DIDN’T live in Florida. They claimed that, because Bush’s brother was the Governor of Florida, there had to be ballot tampering involved. Well, as someone who lived in Florida in 2000, voted in Florida in 2000 and followed the events of Election 2000 in Florida, I know that the election was won by Bush but was close enough to warrant a recount. When the recount was over, Bush won again. To satisfy the skeptics, they recounted again…. again, Bush won.  The state was in the process of a 4th  recount when counting was halted by the courts.  People (who don’t live or vote in Florida) claim that the election was stolen because of this court action.  My question is this… what does this have to do with Jeb Bush?

During all this, the St. Petersburg TimesMiami Herald, Orlando Sentinel and Tampa Tribune did independent recounts.  The results…  Bush won them all.  If Democrats had their way, we’d still be recounting today!   Bush won, Gore lost… get over it.

Maybe this is why Democrats think it’s OK to threaten and pressure delegates to change their votes from Clinton to Obama…  or intimidate voters at the polls… or pay candidates to drop out of races.

I’m curious to wee how much more criminal activity come out of the White House between now and November 2nd.

Why Sharron Angle “Runs from the Press” - Patriotic Perspectives

Sharron Angle is a candidate for U.S. Senate, Nevada, facing Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid in the mid-term elections this November. The Bold Pursuit sm   offers a blog about Ms. Angle from guest blogger, Jeanette Ward.

As reported in *The Huffington Post:

“Nevada Senate candidate Sharron Angle proved to be camera shy once again when she declined to take questions from reporters at a media-friendly event organized by her campaign on Wednesday.

“…As she left the press conference a local television reporter called after her: ‘Sharron, will you answer some questions really quickly.’ Angle did not turn around and a member of her staff responded, ‘We're running behind, I'm sorry.’

“’The whole point of an interview is to use it like they say, 'earned media,' to earn something with it,’ Angle recently told CBN's David Brody. ‘And I'm not going to earn anything from people who are there to badger me and use my words to batter me with.’”

Why does Sharron Angle “run from the press”?

Well, let’s see.  Maybe it’s because:

1)    Most mainstream media members aren’t interested in the truth, or in portraying conservatives fairly.

2)    Mainstream media members of organizations like Politico, Time, The Huffington Post, and The Washington Post would rather conspire to conceal the relationship between Barack Obama and Jeremiah Wright at a critical time in a presidential election, or conspire to portray any popular conservative as a racist (just pick one!), or wish a slow and painful death on Rush Limbaugh, or shut down Fox News, or compare Tea Partiers to Nazis, or destroy Sarah Palin. (In case you are one of those mainstream media members, and haven’t heard about this story, it can be found here, here, and here).

3)    She needs campaign contributions, and she doesn’t have the president flying to Nevada, twice, at a cost of approximately $1 million per trip in taxpayer funds, to do fundraisers for her, while the fawning media tells sunny happy stories about it.

4)    The press isn’t really interested in her views. They are interested in trapping her and making her look foolish.  See #1.

5)    Since, according to liberal media, conservatives can’t read anyway, she’s saving her breath for talk radio.

6)    Her supporters and those likely to support her don’t watch mainstream media on TV either.

7)    Her views are on her website, and have been presented on numerous radio talk shows. Read, and listen, if you dare.

8)    Don’t worry media members! You’ll get your chance before November, if you haven’t lost ALL of your audience by then.

For more commentary on Sharron Angle, see http://www.moveonreid.com.

*author's note: I learned from Sharron last night that the "repeal the Death Tax" press conference I cited in "The Huffington Post" article was not Sharron's; it was Dick Patten's. (Note that HuffPo claimed it was Sharron's). I also learned that the event was held twice, once in Reno and once in Las Vegas. At the Las Vegas event, Sharron did take questions.

Sarah Palin: Game-Changer

by Michael Wiswell, Special to The Bold Pursuitsm

Wow, look at those polls! It’s been a wild ride since the 2008 election, so it will be tough to weigh the factors that delivered the Kennedy seat to the Republicans and has Conservatives looking at the calendar as frequently as any eight-year-old in mid-December.

Besides the things beyond the Republican’s control, for example, economics, health care, deep water, and all the broken promises… have Conservatives learned anything? Have the old school Republican officials contributed anything to their new prospects?

One thing is certain, the Establishment Media could not objectively analyze this political wave if they wanted too – which they don’t. We are on our own ...

The old school guys (back in the day, most were guys) believed a candidate should never fight the media – after all, the opponent is a Democrat, not the media. This was the rule… until she broke it.

I have no idea if Sarah Palin will be the best candidate for President in 2012, and, more importantly, I don’t care. Sarah Palin is the rainmaker and the game-changer.

Observers of all political stripes knew something big was happening as the mini-nova named Sarah exploded at the GOP convention in August 2008. Even as the lights came up, Palin challenged the media and baited them. Bam! Sarah called down the thunder, and sure enough, down it came.

She battled, she took a punch, and then she withstood the entire arsenal of media munitions… and ... she was wounded. She got up. She is still swinging and she is beating them. Thanks to her, we now have a whole pantheon of pugnacious leaders: Rand Paul, Michele Bachmann, Sharron Angle, Jan Brewer, Marco Rubio, and the fiery Governor of New Jersey, Chris Christie.

Sarah Palin stood in the fire, and she is still standing. With every blow she takes, she exposes the impotence of her enemies. In her wake, in the waters tamed by our pit-bull in lipstick, follows a new breed of Tea Party-pleasing, constitutionally-minded rebels. Dig the new breed. This group will amplify the "Palin Approach," taking the heat and fighting back. Eventually, even some of the dinosaur Republicans will “get the memo” and figure out the path to victory lies over the cold, dead body of the Establishment Media along with their Big Government narrative. We were ALWAYS fighting the media!

Palin is still fighting. Every headline aimed at taking Sarah down is ink not spent targeting some other Conservative, as the public grows ever more numb to media bias. Palin knew that we had to take on the media and fight it out, which, if you think about it, makes the old “experts” from both parties look old indeed –  they missed it. No wonder so many don't like her.

Conservatives, think whatever you will about Sarah Palin’s future, but when you think about her past – take off your hats. Especially you good ol' boys from the old days …you need to man-up already, because it was Sarah's vision and personal courage that changed the game. Sarah Palin: Game Changer.

Sharron Angle Re: 2nd Amendment Rights - Patriotic Perspectives

Sharron Angle is a candidate for U.S. Senate, Nevada, facing Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid in the mid-term elections this November. The Bold Pursuit offers a blog about Ms. Angle from guest blogger, Jeanette Ward.

Sharron Angle Re: 2nd Amendment Rights

What Sharron Angle said (as reported in The Las Vegas Sun):

“She said the purpose of the right to bear arms is to check the federal government. But she stopped short of saying that she would support an armed uprising.
‘Our Founding Fathers, they put that Second Amendment in there for a good reason, and that was for the people to protect themselves against a tyrannical government,’ Angle told conservative talk show host Lars Larson in January. ‘In fact, Thomas Jefferson said it’s good for a country to have a revolution every 20 years. I hope that’s not where we’re going, but you know, if this Congress keeps going the way it is, people are really looking toward those Second Amendment remedies.’
“Also that month, she told Reno conservative talk show host Bill Manders she hoped her opponent, U.S. Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid, would be defeated at the ballot box before the electorate resorted to more aggressive measures.

’I’m hoping that we’re not getting to Second Amendment remedies,’ Angle said. ‘I hope that the vote will be the cure for the Harry Reid problems.’

“And last month she told the Reno Gazette-Journal ‘it’s almost an imperative’ that conservatives win.’
'The nation is arming,’ she told the newspaper. ‘What are they arming for if it isn’t that they are so distrustful of their government? They’re afraid they’ll have to fight for their liberty in more Second Amendment kinds of ways. That’s why I look at this as almost an imperative. If we don’t win at the ballot box, what will be the next step?’
What Thomas Jefferson said:

"The tree of liberty must be refreshed from time to time with the blood of tyrants and patriots.”

“The strongest reason for the people to retain the right to keep and bear arms is, as a last resort (emphasis mine), to protect themselves against tyranny in government.”

“What country can preserve its liberties if its rulers are not warned from time to time that their people preserve the spirit of resistance?”
“When the people fear their government, there is tyranny; when the government fears the people, there is liberty.”

“Laws that forbid the carrying of arms...disarm only those who are neither inclined nor determined to commit crimes... Such laws make things worse for the assaulted and better for the assailants; they serve rather to encourage than to prevent homicides, for an unarmed man may be attacked with greater confidence than an armed man.” (Jefferson quoting Cesare Beccaria)

Chris Matthews, perhaps you’d like to “pull the scab off” Thomas Jefferson or some other Founding Father. Maybe that would give you “a thrill up your leg”!

Come on, people! You have forgotten your history! What Sharron Angle said is MILD compared to some of Thomas Jefferson’s quotes. And that is only Thomas Jefferson. If I added James Madison, George Mason, Noah Webster, Alexander Hamilton, William Rawle, Samuel Adams, Patrick Henry, and George Washington, just to name a few, I could fill volumes.

But I shall end with a great one by George Washington:

"Firearms stand next in importance to the Constitution itself. They are the American people's liberty teeth and keystone under independence (emphasis mine) ... From the hour the Pilgrims landed, to the present day, events, occurrences, and tendencies prove that to insure peace, security and happiness, the rifle and pistol are equally indispensable . . . the very atmosphere of firearms everywhere restrains evil interference - they deserve a place of honor with all that is good (emphasis mine)"

Sarah Palin’s Mama Grizzles -- Special to The Bold Pursuit

STAND UP: Sarah Palin’s Mama Grizzles
by Thomas S Schmitz

"You don't want to mess with moms who are rising up.  If you thought pit bulls were tough, you don't want to mess with mama grizzlies."
-         Sarah Palin

The future of our republic is about to be safeguarded and secured. Not by soldiers, troops or militia. Rather by a coalition of commonsense, capable, and contemporary female candidates led by Sarah Palin. These striking recruits will do their darnedest to correct the ills of the Obama problem and restore American greatness. In other words, “Moms to the rescue,” or shall I say “Mama Grizzlies to the rescue.”

On May 14, 2010 Sarah Palin warned Washington D.C. that their out of control spending and generational theft is causing American moms to rise up and say,” C’mon now, that’s enough…that is enough and we’re gonna do something about this.” And with this rallying call to action the rise of the Mama Grizzly was born.

Americans first got a glimpse of the original Mama Grizzly politician on March 20 2009 after Barack Obama’s offensive taunt directed towards athletes of the Special Olympics on Jay Leno. Sarah Palin said, “I was shocked to learn of the comment made by President Obama about Special Olympics. This was a degrading remark about our world’s most precious and unique people, coming from the most powerful position in the world. These athletes overcome more challenges, discrimination and adversity than most of us ever will. By the way, these athletes can outperform many of us and we should be proud of them.  I hope President Obama’s comments do not reflect how he truly feels about the special needs community.”

Mama Grizzly bears protect their cubs. If the Mama Grizzly feels you have gotten too close to harm her cubs, the Mama Grizzly will rise on her hind legs and deal a fatal blow to the perpetrator. Sarah Palin’s Mama Grizzlies have been on their hind legs for quite some time. The Obama administrations squandering of taxpayer dollars on unsustainable programs is immorally stealing future prosperity from our children. The tea party was among the first to see and act on this, and it is no coincidence that most of the tea party leaders are women.

Nikki Haley, Susana Martinez, and Carly Fiorina are the newest Mama Grizzlies drafted by Sarah Palin. When these women are combined with other GOP pink elephants and Mama Grizzlies like Michelle Bachman, Marsha Blackburn, and Nevada new comer Sharron Angle you have quite an impressive stampede. This stampede has the potential of being a formidable force of reform and restoration for our republic.

These hard working, self made, thriving career women and mothers are the undeniable aftermath of dare I say it…feminism. But these conservative women of this newer feminism are very different from their radical sisters of yesterday. The Mama Grizzlies won’t be burning their bras and peddling abortion. No these Mama Grizzlies know how to lead. They have respect for life. They know the difference between right and wrong. They know it’s better to challenge terrorists rather than engage them. They know it’s better to create wealth than redistribute it. They learned from Reagan that as government grows, liberty contracts. Lastly, they know the difference between a few uplifting notes scribbled on your hand and a capitalist teleprompter with a socialist heart.

Milky Way and the Big Bang

Guest blogger, Dick Lanham, offers his insights on evolution, Islam's contribution to science and racism. We are pleased to offer Mr. Lanham's blog in this Special to The Bold Pursuit...

The Image above was taken by the Planck Telescope of the European Space Agency published in Nature, July 8, 2010. The complete Milky Way is the white plate seen on edge. The background radiation of the Big Bang is shown in the bluish surround. At the request of a good friend of mine, I posted it on his blog (The Brotherhood) of a site (http://americanwantssarah.ning.com) that we belong to. The posting drew a lot of comments about how the Big Bang and Evolution (which I did not mention) contradicted creation stories in the Bible. My comments here are partly a reply to some of these criticisms and partly to another friend’s observations on President Obama’s directive to NASA to assure the Muslim community that it had contributed greatly to science and technology.

Assuming there was a Big Bang this has nothing to do with God. God being God can do anything He likes except create a contradiction. If He wanted to start us all off with a Bang, that is His business. Many scientists do not believe in God, some do. Darwin to his dying day was a believer and church-goer. The difficulty some religious people contemporaneous with him had was that the Theory of Evolution made impossible a literal belief of the creation verses in the Bible. No good scientist I ever heard of did his science to prove that God does not exist, an impossibility at any event. That would be like devoting oneself to growing sugar cane to show that Ford 150s are the best selling vehicle in America. Science has nothing to do with religion This whole matter was debated and resolved in the Late Medieval Ages during the beginning years of universities, mostly at the University of Paris. There followers of Aristotle clashed with theologians who, too, like some commentators on the blog, believed in the literal truth of the Bible. These clashes in the 12th and 13th Centuries were eventually resolved in the Aristotelians’ favor, as by the 14th Century the Parisian professors had to swear to teach Aristotle and an Islamic commentator on Aristotle, Averroes. ['Averroes' is the name used in the west for Ibn Rushed, 1126--1198. He is one of the two Muslim natural philosophers--the title given to scientists then--popularly remembered today, the other being Avicenna, Ibn Sīnā, 980--1037.] At that time (the 14th Century) there was an agreement–still in force–that scientists stuck to the observable (broadly defined) and that theologians were responsible for metaphysics and religion. So the swirl of comment in the 19th Century about Darwin’s science has a history. As to my good Friend M’s comment [about President Obama's NASA directive], Islam did have a 500 year period of scientific eminence, which was to mostly to preserve Aristotle and Plato and other classic authors for later use in the Renaissances (there were a couple of them). That 500 year period ended in the 15th century. President Obama are you listening? The period of distinction of Islamic science ended in the 15th century. There are 2 major reasons for this: First there is a strong tradition in Islam against abstract learning. Knowledge to be pursued had to be in the practical interest of Islam, and since Islam knows no distinction between religious and civic law, all learning had to contribute in a way that would be epistmologically incompatible to scientific and other endeavors in the west. (What practical effect does acquiring estimations of the size of the proton or of facts about Mozart’s 21st Piano Concerto have?). The second reason for the decline was that the Muslims never established the kind of universities and other types of schools started in the 12th Century (in Bologna), added to in the 13th and following Centuries, and still going on today in non-Muslim societies in which knowledge could be acquired, systematized, preserved, and protected against the depredations of anti-intellectuals. Madrases were and are only theological institutions. For NASA now to devote itself to assuring Muslims that they are just as good at science and technology as are we (which as a society they clearly are not) is as condescending, as is the racism and sexism of affirmative action. What affirmative action does is re-institute Jim Crow and the degradation of women. It intimates that blacks and women are not good enough to compete in a white, manly world. They need a helping hand. (A new version of the white man’s burden.) Grades low? Does not matter, in you go anyway to, say, the Harvard Law School. Not publishing any law review articles once you get there, Barry? Not to worry. We shall make you Editor of the Law Review so you will not feel badly about yourself. Blacks and women not good enough? Oh, yeah? First of all the brightest person I ever knew was a black girlfriend of mine in our freshman year of college. (We were crazy about each other but her family would not let us get together because I was white.) Second, you had better not have let any such talk of the little woman needing some aid from us men around my Mother or her sisters. Any of them would have knocked your block off. The women of AWS [the website in which these comments were initially posted] do not need me to speak for them, but my guess is that, if any of them had heard such talk, she would have elbowed my Mother aside to throw the first punch.

Why Aren’t Republican’s Talking About This? - Patriotic Perspectives

by John Wayne Tucker, candidate, U.S. Congress, Missouri, 3rd District

Why Aren’t Republican’s Talking About This?

Your taxes are going up and they are going up big time. For some strange reason, no Republican candidate is talking about this pending disaster to the American people. And, of course, the Democratic Party is not going to be talking about the increases after Obama’s promise that no person making less than $250,000 would see any increase in taxes. But it is certain that you and everyone else will be raging angry in about six months when the 2001 and 2003 Republican tax cuts sunset on January 1st. This will be one of the biggest tax increases we have seen and it will be virtually across the board. Your income is going to be melting away. And all of this will come during the massively depressed economy and jobless rate that we already have. In case no one has noticed, small businesses are closing in record numbers and this tax increase will hurt those remaining small business directly and indirectly.
First, every income tax bracket will increase significantly. Even the 10% bracket will increase to 15%. And every other bracket will increase by similar amounts. That is 5%, not $5.00. This is a huge amount of increase for anyone’s income bracket. Counting on being married to help out? Well, there will be an increase in taxes for married people (the so called “marriage penalty”), a reduction of child tax credits by half and no more doubling of the child standard deduction for married couples. Counting on an inheritance? Sorry, the “Death Tax” will return. There will be as much as 55% on estates of One Million Dollars or more (and don’t think there are not a whole lot more of those than there have ever been). Work hard, be successful, save up something to leave your kids and give it to the government. Of course if you are going to be in a nursing home and use Medicaid, the government can just tear up your deed and make one with their name on it anyway. Getting an inheritance in America is practically impossible. So, you have been saving and investing your money. Sorry, Capital Gains tax is going up from 15 to 20%. Perhaps we would be better off to just enjoy our money when we get it. The dividends tax will rise from 15 percent this year to 39.6 percent in 2011, and another 3.8 percent in 2013. And don’t forget that Obamacare is not free. There are over twenty new taxes associated with that program that will also go into effect on Jan. 1, 2011.

No New

Taxes
The final wave of taxes slated for this coming January includes the Alternative Minimum Tax (AMT) and Employer Tax Hikes. According to the Tax Policy Center, failure to index the AMT will cause the number of families forced to pay at a higher rate to increase from 4 million to 28.5 million families. The ability of small businesses to expense rather than depreciate equipment will reduce from $250,000 to $25,000. Large businesses can expense half of their equipment, but in January, 2011, no expensing will be allowed at all. Everything will have to be depreciated. In addition, there will be a large host of other business taxes that will increase. This along with the sagging economy will lead to lost jobs and a more depressed economy.
Furthermore, deductions for tuition will be eliminated, teachers will not be able to deduct personal moneys spent for classroom purposes, employers will be limited in the educational assistance they can provide (one of the best benefits provided by employers these days) and student loan interest will not be deductible. And finally, charitable donations will not be allowed by retired people from their IRA.
All of this means that the economy will get worse, personal wealth will decline, jobs will be lost and the economy will continue to sink. So why is no politician talking about this? I have no idea. But this non-politician says, “I will work to extend these tax cuts until we can find a way to improve the tax system so that the government does not make it impossible for us to enjoy the benefits of our hard work.” I have signed many pledges, including the No Death Tax pledge, but the most important pledge I have signed is the one that I created for myself. You can find it on my web site http://johnwaynetucker.com/pledge.html. No politician would sign such a pledge, but then, I am not a politician. Not only do I recognize the dangers inherent in the tax increases, but I am committed to prevent that disaster. Nobody else is even talking about it. I am promising to work to fix it.
But to do that, I need you to select John Wayne Tucker in the primary on August 3rd. Please donate, spread the word and most importantly vote on August 3rd.
